Introduce Yourselves

Hi,

I'm Peter Thornton, 14 years old. I've been playing guitar for nearly 3 years and am at about a grade 6 standard. I also play the trombone in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland Access Band (grade 7/8).

What else... I love jazz! My influences are those like Martin Taylor, Bobby Broom, Hugh Burns. But I'll settle for many other kinds of music, such as acoustic (Tristan Seume, Eric Roche etc).

The Guitarists that influenced me are Rhoads, Matt Tuck, Dimebag, Iommi and a few others.

Jess I just had to say I think Twoface is a very apropriate name for a cat. Well, it would be for my two anyway. They both like and don't like me. I've techniqally called one SheDevil, my sister's mad at me now because she doesn't respond to her name 'Duffy' anymore!

one of my new friends is a foreign exchange student from Germany, and he is way cool. His german accent when he speaks english is awesome, its so cool!

O.K….. I guess that I never introduced myself…. Not lots to say….. I just started playing about two months ago and am enjoying it… I always told myself that I want to learn but all the years of trying to learn just by wishing and dreaming got me know where…. I am starting late in life (41 years old) but what the hell….. Actually I just thought I would never be able to learn…. I am happy to say that it is a great feeling when you make sounds that really sound well … also very addictive…. I know think it is possible for me to learn… I know its going to take a lot of practice…. I will just have to be persistent, and one day I will be as good as some of the guys here…. I will just have to wait and see.

first i gotta know where you got that name! I'm 55 and learning too. been at it for hmmmmmmm two years i think or is it one? i stopped counting. but I'm doing well. fingers don't move as quick as BBT but he spends a lot of time touching things he shouldn't so his fingers are nimble. I love the learning and finding new ways to play and improving every day. Lot's of people to give you help and advice. Great bunch of musicians and musician wannabees here!
