I'll say! This one hasn't been used for well over a year but new topics like it are constantly being made, I never even noticed how unnecessary that was before. Good idea...Great, now BBT is likely to show off and keep mentioning his idea constantly!

Hello, names Al. I hail from the great state of Wisconsin. I'm 21 and have been playing guitar for about 7 years with a a year or two break where I didn't play too much. I started out playing a lot of rock on my electric. But when I turned 18 my parents but me a nice Martin and I couldn't put it down. That's mainly what I play now. I like to listen to everything from jazz to rock. I like to play 60s and 70s rock and acoustic alternative. I love this site. It has really helped me progress and mature as a guitar player. DrGonzo refers to the late-great Hunter S. Thompson. Author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and many other literary masterpieces.

Nice to meet you man! Glad to hear you're still keen on playing. Acoustics seem to be the bait that leads us into the heavier stuff, hope you keep your interest in all of them

Welcome Gill. Wow, you have a Rich Warlock? I'm not sure how they sound, but I think they look pretty cool! You seem to have a nice collection of guitars, wish I had that many.

Welcome again, you're going ot like it here. The site and the people on it are very helpful.

I've been here for quite some time, but why not be a little more thorough?

My name is Jonathan Christopher (Gregory) Runchey (that's how we get Crunch). I'm 18 years old, a senior (year 12) in high school. I live in West Bend, Iowa, and next year I will attend Iowa State University (majoring in Engineering with a secondary major in French). I'm athletic and tall (6'3"), so I played basketball all through high school. I played football until my sophomore year, but I continuously rolled my ankle (we're talking multiple times every practice and game) and contracted (right word?) tendinitis. It also didn't help that the coach was an absolute douche. Now that ball season's over I just run and lift after school every day, which, though many people find it hard to believe, I enjoy quite a lot.

I also enjoy reading books, magazines, or anything I can get my hands on really. Obviously, I play the guitar as well! I started several (3-4) years ago and have been playing fairly seriously ever since. I've never been in a "gigging" band, but I have been in a few bands that have played "gigs." Hopefully you're all pickin' up what I'm puttin' down. I'm going to end it with that.

i guess i should post one.

my name is Zachary. if you guys read this, you can call me zach on other posts in stuff. i wouldn't want to write my full screen name either. im 15 and live in long beach California. Ive wrote all the songs (every part) for all the bands ive been in. during my first band the lead guitarist never showed up to practice and did all the solos wrong. so when my next band came along i decided to be the only guitarist (lead and rhythm). and then the same thing happened with my singer, so i decided that i didnt want to go through that hassle again so i took the place as singer too (since i was constantly coaching her already on how to sing). so obviously i studied Jimi Hendrix. i dont know for sure how long Ive been playing guitar, since i can barely remember not having at least a cheap acoustic in my hands. but ive been learning solidly for about five years.

Cool! I'm obessed with that show, me and my friend can even name any episode and what series it's in...yeah, so now everyone's learned I'm a geek and so are my friends. But I don't care, geeks are cool, we're eccentric...which is cool.

Well I'm Heather (of course) and I came form no musical backgorund. I started learning guitar techniqually when I was 13, but I didn't stick to it. I really started playing a year later I guess. None of my family are or were very musical. I'm probebly the only member who evr picked up an instrument and tuck with it longer than a month. That's it I guess...my biography on my profile is REALLY long if you want to check that out! But that's basically it.

Im Anthoni. I'm 19 and I live in Alabama, but I go to college at Mississippi University for Women (no joke!). I've been playing guitar religously since Christmas 07. I'm sure some of you will get a kick out of this or get mad, but Guitar Hero got me into guitar. I was pretty good at Guitar Hero (the only songs I couldn't beat on expert were "jordan" and "through the fire and flames"). I really loved the music on there, so I was like, "this is what I wanna do for real!" I have a Hagstrom Ultra Swede and a Dean acoustic electric. I'm a decent guitarist with influences in blues, rock, metal (not metalcore, metal), funk and punk. I'm sort of in the beginning stages of 2 bands right now: one is a band that plays a lot of older sounding stuff like country and old rock. I really dont see them going anywhere, but I just like playing, so I go over there. The other band just started and I have high hopes for: the singer is an unbelievable lyricist, a pretty good guitarist and a good buddy of mine, the bassist is pretty BA and I have no complaints about the drummer.

smartest man ever...lol

Anyway i guess ill do one of these as well. Im Chris im 19 and i live in Delaware. Ive been playing guitar for about a year and a half but more seriously over the last 6 months. Somehow in that timeframe ive aquired 4 guitars and one bass and each one is rather unique in its own way. I just recently joined a local band and will hopefully get to play some shows or record with them sometime soon. Other than that im pretty much your typical 19 year old college student.

Notim, we need another old guy on the forum! You should become a regular again. Don't have to worry about Skold
or Baud they're history.
