On another note, what are you views on Nirvana?

Nirvana, imho, is the most overrated band possibly ever. That is my favorite time frame for music, since that si when I was growing up. But they got all the publicity and fame and people think they are the greatest, blah blah blah, but clearer superior groups such as Soundgarden and Alice in Chains get next to no recognition when compared to Nirvana. Heck, even groups that weren't necessarily better just sounded better to me, like Screaming Trees.

I just don't like them flat out. I agree, Alice in Chains is so much better, but Nirvana is somehow "The Best Band" for grunge rock. Honestly I thought they were okay a few years back but then as musical maturity and appreciation/depreciation started to set in I stopped listening to them. Just lots of noise for most of their stuff(to me).
I definitely prefer AIC for my 90's grunge rock stuff though, much better, they had a very unique sound that was very defined at the same time.

Layne > Kurt, Anytime. AiC makes Nirvana look like TeleTubbies. Plus, I absolutely can't stand Krist Noveselic. Total douche. Spent his whole life BSing and going against the corporate end of things, now he's completely involved in politics, writes a column for Seattle Weekly [Business related, I'm almost positive]. What a douche. Along with practically dedicated a large portion of his time to sewing Courtney Love. gah. Dave Grohl is probably the only one of that band I can honestly say I respected. Kurt, I used to. But looking at it now, he was just enabled the whole time. He, and everyone else knew it, and he, nor anyone else tryed to stop it [or gave it a real effort at least]. Whereas, with, say, Layne, he really couldn't stop anything. Jerry wouldn't regroup AiC unless Layne stopped using, but he couldn't stop. The outcome is really pretty sad. Layne, I don't think he wanted to die. He just couldn't shake his demons, no matter how many people tried to help him. And, the fact that there was no note, I'm pretty positive it was an accidental overdose. I wouldn't think him to be the kind to leave everyone go without some kind of, saying, or something.

@ Empirism, that's from the anime Death Note :D An awesome show.

But the english verson of Death Note sucks. They're using the voice actor who played Goku in Dragon Ball Z though which is cool. But English is a no no! They can't put the emotion into it.
