Wait... you still don't have it back? You seriously didn't do anything? So, why haven't you told your parents? He's pretty much stolen your guitar man and wtf kind of rule is that?

as long as its between classes or ive done my work (and its not plugged in), noone cares if i practice a little on my electric. However If its too loud/distracting (an accoustic strummed loudly or amplified electric) they take it.
Midterms coming up! 4 hours of playing in the lunch room. Amplified! \,,/

BTW, he had no reason to take it, get it back. And i suffer all day worrying about my guitar. If it was taken........

wow. personally, one year my principal took my hat away, i had short hair then, he said it was a distraction... bull *. anyway i went to go get it and he wouldnt give it to me, said i needed some bull* note or somthing. come in the next day and i say i wnt my hat back he needs the note, i say ill call my mom shell approve, i called she didnt answer. i come back after the weekend and say oh heres your note he says Oh SORRY WE DONATED IT TO THE CHARITY. (this was near the end of school when the things get donated...) (btw the hat was a gift from my dad, one of those espensive 30$ under armour hats i really loved it...anyway i flipped out and said somthing like "you take my hat away for wearing it, fine, you dont accept that i wont do it again and you still wont give it back, you know i want it back, then you donate it to charity w/o my permission and clerly know who owned it, then say that i donated it and i cant get it back" (i didnt say it like tht i was in 7th grade but still...) odviously i dont have any control over people who are much older then me. so realizing i cant do anything i tell my mom, next day we get a personal appoligy from the principal addmitting he was wrong. never got the hat back, never got my 30$ back but it did work in a sense

anyway wut im sying is tht kids have little aauthority and power when you dont the thing schools fear most isnt angry teacher, stupid students or drug related crimes, its angry parents. no joke. because all those lead to angry parents and angry parents cause all * to happen... so much bs.
moral of the story :) dont let anyone push yall around :)

That ****ing sucks man, both cases.

That's why I love my school, its not like a normal school, with stupid rules or something like that, we,the students also have voice, when something of that matter happens to me I don't stay calm, I know I have the reason I fight for it, teachers or principals or anyone, no one has the right to take your things and give it to charity or something like that (wtf!!!)

I don't know how to express myself, just don't let school authorities take over you, just because since little kids we are told that teachers and high authorities always have the reason and you can't do anything about it,don't let the system walk over you!! That's something I learned very well in my school, fight for what you want and believe. For your rights! (I sound like some radical activist, but that's the truth)

****ing bull*** man, I would've wrestled that *** to the ground for it. either that or I'd definitely tell that asswipe to give me the money to get me a new guitar. it's *** like this that pisses me off even though it has absolutely no effect on my life. ah well

in the words of George Lopez

I'd have used it as a literal Axe... to his head... I don't like random people touching my guitars let alone trying to take it, seriously, you should have taken his little walkie talkie and said it was distracting lol he may have seen your side of it, if not... well back to the axe statement >:[

seriously, that's just wrong. Dude take it to the school board or something, you know go to the higher ups and get him on thin ice.

@ Vince
I completely sympathise with your situation. IMO, and from experience, I have found that both as an adult and a student that teachers (generally speaking) aren't that bright. All to often they go into the profession with the wrong attitude (more to do with social position and self gratification than a calling to teach). I've found many of them to be socially inadequate 'suck-ups' who buckle under when faced with a determined parent. They only feel important when placed in a position of power over youngsters.
I've also met a couple of superb teachers who are worth their weight in gold!

When it comes down to it, it's your decision to actually hand you guitar over or simply refuse.

The punishment you put yourself through for not standing up for yourself is far worse than the punishment you get for not giving in.

I think a kid should show respect for an adult but respect has to work both ways.

can't you just not take your guitar to school? i hate to play devil's advocate here, but i don't think you are entitled to just carry you guitar around the hallways at school. oh and i definitely do NOT recommend wrestling your principal to the ground to get your guitar back.

yeah in that case i would have just said no. with my hat it was kinda like oh yeah ill get it later.. but a guitar, thats more then just personal property...

well id doubt to think that your not allowed, since most schools have a music program and it is a musical intrument theyd be contradicting themselves by taking away school materials. personally ive brought in myguitar many times, but the high school prinipal loves me since he saw my band... lol its the middle school that crazy in my school, high school they take more of a chill

Wtf. Did he give a reason for taking it? If not then he is now the biggest prick I know (of). What harm could you have possibly done with it? Bash some people maybe, but then that's just wasting a good guitar. Like your title says, not cool.

HAHA! hope that ****head will get what he deserve... man honestly, even some people are sometimes against the authorities, they are handy when used right... I dun know, but some people should never choose teacher as profession. Some people get somehow get drunk with power use and they think they can do everything...hope he gets a lesson...a karma for that!!! :D

honestly dude, if i'm a teacher or principal, and some kid is walking around with a guitar i'd tell him to leave it at home. obviously there are exceptions, but i don't think you were going to/from guitar class at school. if you are just carrying a guitar around because you like guitar... it's a distraction.
