Alright so to start out i want to buy my brothers gibson guitar for a great deal of money but I have NOTHING SQUAT!
Ive asked other people around and there like
"YOUR JOB IS TO STAY IN SCHOOL!"
and others are like
Baby Sit! >:o
I mean thats ok but i want a more manly one
I normaly get like 45$ at least a week maybe i dunno it depends if i mow lawns but i only get paid 15$ per lawn and lawns are hard work!
So is there an easy way to earn money?
Dont get me wrong i love to work its a good thing but in the middle of summer mowing 6+ lawns a week!
it gets tough
There is not much to do when your 13
Im not allowed to sell things cuase my neighborhood has a strict rule about soliciting What im trying to say is

**IS THERE A WAY TO EARN MONEY FOR AGES 13 - 15 WITHOUT MOWING LAWNS OR BABY SITTING!***

I would honestly say that mowing lawns and baby sitting are probably your best options for that. A friend of mine mows lawns and does alright for himself, though it is about good work and quantity with that sort of thing.
Outside of those(and other yard work for more $) you have very very limited options at 13. Maybe ask a family friend if they need help doing something, a lot of people won't mind letting you help them out at their job if it is like a privately owned construction job or something that isn't a corporate business, though they have to pay you "under the table".

Best option though is to walk around your neighborhood and ask the older folks around(like "Ye Olden Phip" ;) hehehe jk) if they would like their lawn mowed once a week for x dollars. since it's the summer, you could totally do like 3 lawns per day(size depending of course). You can also add on that you will trim hedges and such for another $10 or something. Just a thought...

And man...babysitting a 2 year old can be BRUTAL! haha When the kids are throwing hot wheels cars at you from point blank range it becomes a war zone...

Good luck sir :D

im 16 and i hate all this BS getting a job for a kid is much harder then someone whos even 18 or 19...

Firstly people treat you like crap and since many jobs are hard to come by baby sitting and stuff like that is really the only thing to do. Then my mom gives me a hard time about it when i say i want a job but i dont know how to get it etc. She just yells at me saying how all the good jobs are taken and that i wouldnt even be good at it and that im lazy but i need a job, and i ask her to help and she basically refuses. So my mom is no help as she just yells at me about it then contradicts herself...

The best job is caddying over the summer, its what i do, its what my friends do and its fairly simple... and you get paid tons by rich guys with cigars...

cheers

Agree with Empirism. When you find an easy way to make money, please tell me. Just cut a lot of lawns dude, it's your best option at that age and everyone goes through the whole "tough to get a job when you're young" stage.

fwiw, my advice to you is to not rush into getting a job anyways. You have your life to work and then you won't have a choice. Enjoy your youth!

round where i live mowing lawns means moving 2 zip codes... houses are big here with a bunch of illegals to do the job.

id look into caddying although you prob wont find it now. i say enjoy while your 13... work when your my age or older. seriously. youll work for the rest of your life. totally agree with btimm on this one

yeah golf courses will usually hire kids a little younger (13+) to do work in the greens, caddy, etc. i'm not sure why that is. i never worked on a golf course but i had friends who did. of course, they were also golfers at that young age. i got my first job when i was 15-16 but you will have more expensive things than a guitar to pay for then (car, gas, insurance).

Yeah. There's not much to do when you're under 18 except lawns and babysitting. Do you have stuff you can sell on craigslist? That's always an option. I bought a Wii from a kid this way. Another thing is keeping score for teams at bowling alleys. I know some bowling alleys still have leagues and dont have the automatic scoring so they'll pay someone to do it so they can get drunk and bowl!

Yeah. Since your 13 and not in school for the summer, you can break into houses during the day and sell their sh*t on craigslist at night. Who knows, you might be able to find a Gibby in your unsuspecting victims house!

I hope you know I'm kidding;)

I just had my first day at work today, on my first job ever. I'm a waiter in a nice restaurant and I wasn't really looking for a job but then somebody found it for me and asked me if I wanted to do it and I said yes. I think I'm only going to do this for two months or maybe even only one. First I thought of buying some gear with the money but if I last the two months (it's really exhausting) I think I'm going to spend it on my CISCO diplomas so I can find a better job during while I'm doing my first year at university which I could possibly keep until I'm done with University. For those who are wondering, CISCO is about computer networks (and I'm going to study computer science.
By the way, I'm 18.

i also wanted to get a decent job...for now..mixing and producing demos for other ppl is good, but i need something more stable, being 18 in Mexico is hard

So only 2 options,Cleaning bathrooms/waiter in a restaurant or the drug business, and there is where the real money is...haha

If you're 13,dont think of getting a job...enjoy the freakin summer!

Aww man Mici, stay away from CISCO rofl.../jk. I work as IT-specialist (title) in a friggin big company, working in IT services is allright job, but forget the glamour that surrounds it. Theres none, workers are just technician codes without faces, that can easily replaced with some noobs from the streets (corporations attitude like that cause much stress) It's just money that counts, there are numbers of bigchair visionarists who put through standards that have no friggin sense in the practice, that "production" have to bend, countless indicators that are in discrepancy to determine your effciency...oh man.. without even start of talking about those salesmens, who just SELL services and deals (whatever it takes)... sadly, if things fails, it never be the cause of bad deal, its those workers and "production"...

ohwell, allright, allright... soz about that lamentation haha...

Just came to mind, like Case said use your talent to create possibilities...do you know the "million dollar webpage"? its just an crazy idea, but surprise!, it worked...

Cheers

I used to be a paper boy, but I don't think they have them anymore do they?

LOL Yeah, leave it to me to take the "high moral ground"! With all of these suggestions the poor kid is gonna end up in prison breaking rocks in the hot sun! Unfortunately the choices at his age are limited.

LMAO Phip you're a nut!

Mistaluke, dude your family is right when they say stay in school. Mowing the lawn is nothing compared to a real job dude - be grateful you have a job in this recession. It's not amazing, but it's something and you could even put it on your resume later on - it could be a good way of saying you're a hard worker to the person who wants to hire you later in the future.

You earn more money than me kid so you really shouldn't be complaining.

If I was your age and earned $45 a week I'd put it all straight into an ISA account and leave it there untill Uni.
