I use Dunlop Jazz I. No actually it does differ, thats why there're different types of picks to accommodate with different types of music and playing styles. The thicker the pick the more delicate and precise the sound is, and the thinner the pick the more heavier and less controllable the sound is. I hate it when a pick breaks while playing =\.

Heavy Dunlop Jimi Hendrix picks (Mostly my "lucky pick" with wear that makes it look like Hendrix really used it. Not really i just slide alot, if it catches i smooth that part giving it a smooth yet unique sound)

Or my fingers...

Dunlop Ultex .73 Sharp I also use Dunlop Ultex .60, really depends on what kind of tone I need. the 73's have a sharp edge, and its thin, so you can play as fast as you need to,while still hearing each note clearly. the .60's have a round edge and I get a better quality P.H from it.Not quite sure why.

I swear by Fender 351 Delrin 1.00mm and 1.14mm guitar picks. I've tried more different picks than I care to remember, but the 351 Delrin's will always be my number one choice.

Yap! Dunlop Jazz as well; they just feel right to me, and give me the nice warm tone on my guitar. But most of the time (especially for Bossa Nova) I like to just use the Montgomery technique, the thumb! :)

i played 'fender mediums' way back (i'm a stick w/ one pick kinda guy)
then those Orange Dunlop 60mm's came out in the 80's and i switched.
those have been IT for me until not long ago when i tried and fell in love with
Dunlop's (again lol) new 'ULTEX' picks .73mm
...they SAY 73mm and i'll take their word for it , but these FEEL thinner but harder, much like the Tortoise-Shell picks i believe they are modeled after.
I still use the old Dunlop Orange 60's sometimes on certain Acoustic Planks but have simply fallen in love with the feel/sound/RESPONSE(!) of the ULTEX 73s

RAWK!
