@ Jazzy,
Funny you should ask, but I'm up in that tree right now with my laptop!
Actually no, I haven't been back to the tree (we broke up shortly after that pix was taken) but I have been to "the rock" (from the same era).............

@foogered
I'm actually (quite seriously) considering going to Iowa State. It's kind of a race between ISU, the U of I, Kansas, and Columbia (New York, yeah that one). I've been leaning towards a major in engineering with a minor in French (possibly a double major). I don't know which specific kind of engineering I want to study in, and when I decide (or change my ideas), that will be a big factor in my decision. I don't know which school's French program is better either, so I guess that's something to think about.
Fight!Fight!Fight for Iowa! Let the loyal Iowa fans sing!
That's also kind of a big deal, I'm a pretty big Hawkeye fan. |

Heheh, well it depends on what kind of engineering you're looking into, but Iowa State is the way to go for almost all disciplines of engineering.
I'm a Hawk fan at heart too, so no worries. Just don't advertise it too much around here.
PM me some time if you're visiting and I might be able to show you around. |

Definitely, a couple friends of mine are kind of looking at ISU as well. Pretty much my best friend for the past 5 years and this super-hot chick I went to prom with (score me!). I've been on campus 3 or 4 times so I know where most of everything's at, and it's much more condensed than Iowa's campus. Iowa City's great, so is Lawrence, KS(freakin' awesome music scene). Speaking of which, how is Ames'? I should probably know considering it's only 1.5 hours away, but whatever.
One of my other friends has two brothers that went to ISU, both for engineering. They were, if I remember correctly, fairly open about their allegiance to Iowa. Maybe they got a lot of flack about it, oh well. |

There is definitely a lot more going on in Iowa City, but It's not like Ames is dead. It's all about knowing the right people and trying new things. It's definitely nice having that the campus is a separate entity, as opposed to Iowa. If you're talking music, there're usually a couple shows every week at the Union, and then local bands are always playing at some fraternity or another. There are a few clubs, but they're almost all 21 and up, but the music coming from them sounds pretty good. |

@Lance,
HaHa Yeah. back then i looked a lot like J.D.
I went to electronics school with a guy who was the absolute spitting image of Tony Orlando. We used to walk the streets of Providence, RI and mess with people's heads.
