Sigh... Drivers. Come on. So being the good son i am i did some errands for my mom, got some vitamins for her, picked up some grocerys, and of course went to grab some strings at the local music store... I left at 2:00... Came back at 4:00. These errands were maybe 5-10 miles...
What is with drivers??? heres what i encountered.... i park my car to go into a vitamin store, a guy double parks behind my car, and is talking on the phone, i tap on the window of his 70,000$ mercedes and he gives me the "Hold on one second" so i wait about 5 minutes for the douche to get off his phone... for him to finally move.
I encountered cars parked in the middle of major roads, idiots not moving at green lights, people cutting ahead of me in the smallest of areas to sit in traffic... But my favorite is this... I took it on my phone so the quality is crap but this is my alltime favorite... No one in the car, the car is big so maybe he doesnt wanna get it scratched? But the parking lot was HUGE not too many empty spots, but the driving area was at least 2 cars and he'd only be sticking out a little. Here... you decide...

Thats what im saying. I mean i could maybe understand if hes driving a ferrari in a really small parking lot where the back is sticking out and he doesnt want people to hit it and hes only gonna be a second... But this guy was there from the time i got there to the time i left, at least 15 mins... Amazing. |

Elliott,
What you fail to understand is that "he" is SPECIAL. Why, he's the most specialist boy in the whole wide world (that's what his mommy always told him, and he believes it)! You really don't deserve to park so close to him since you are a peasant. LOL (the world is full of them my friend)

And if it was a ferrari I'd have put my van in low and shoved that ** into the next space! |

I would liked to have secretly follow him. Find out where he parks and set the inside of his car on fire. Burn it to the ground. Nothing major |

i kinda wanted to double park in the spot he blocked... and just wait... But it was only for a short while.... He probably parked there for half an hour or more... Oblivious.

@ Elliot
It's obvious the pickup in your photo belongs to a bus driver. They're taught to pull up at stops like that so nothing can get past and spoil their clear run when they pull away! |

70 Mph is the max highway speed? crazy. But yes, in germany its the same, most drivers ignore it.
In germany on highways the usual speed is something about 90 MPH in most parts of germany. But we do have quite a lot of highways without speedlimits, so you can drive as fast as you want to. 70 MPH is the speedlimit on normal, 1-tracked streets on the countryside. But then again, they are pretty broad streets. |

My guess is that the amount of traffic is considerably different between Germany and the US. I would be afraid to go on the roads if everyone was doing 90-100 mph. |

I disagree about the common sense portion of this post. I talk to people from all over the world pretty routinely and the vast majority of people in general, and not specific to any location, don't have functioning brains. |

How do we know this to be true? And even if they don't, how do we know they Germans don't have some other atrocious music that the people like? It's everywhere dude. |

It's Tokio Hotel here..a real pain for everyone, but they are really succesful like Lady Gaga and Justin Beaver.
About 3500 people died in 2010 in German car accidents, and we had about 2.2 million car accidents. Thats 1 accident on 40 inhabitants. However, we do have a huge traffic from other countries (trade, tourism, etc.)
And I agree with you btimm, we also have loads of people who are only limitedly using their brains. And I'm not too sure, but just guessing, I dont know too many people who got hurt because they drove too fast on the unlimited highway. Most people die in everyday situations or people fall asleep while driving. But it would be interesting to hear some facts about it.
What are the statistics in america? |

Don't get me wrong. I have a Toyota Sienna minivan. It's big and annoying. But when I find that I can't park in a small space, I don't park there. I don't take up two! |
