Does a Les Paul Look Better With, or Without a Pickguard?

i personally think it looks better with a pickguard.

I never understood the need for the pick gaurd.

I have a irrational dislike of Les Pauls, I think they look rather junky no matter what.

Personally i think they look like theyre missing something without it... so ill say with.

Without for me. I always thought they looked too fancy, or proper with them.

i have to agree with BBT i dont like les pauls, they arnt metal (dont bring up zakk wylde)

Are you kidding? Kirk Hammett, Randy Rhoads, and yeah, Zakk Wylde among others. What do you mean "arnt metal"? Looks? Playability? Sound?

One thing I can agree with is that they are heavy. Not the best guitar for the stage if you're a little guy.

Ive always had a dislike for pickguards, but my Ibanez looks too plain w/o one.
I say only SGs and Superstrats should have pickguards

With...but only if it has matching body and neck binding.

Not a huge fan of Les Paul style guitars, but there are some that I absolutely love. But I prefer no pickguard.

i had a feeling it would be 50/50.

i really like it with a pickguard.. but mine doesnt have one, its kind of a cool different look without it but i like it better with one.

Why would you buy a Les Paul? They serve better as door stops than actual guitars. I suppose if you like to wrestle bears you would like a Les Paul, or if you want a strong back. On the other hand, you could buy an ESP Eclipse, same body style, half the price for a high end model, fast neck, real pickups, less weight on your back and better looks.

All for the sake of an argument!

ok, it's 64 to 36 with yes on the pickguard in the lead. so i hereby declare it law that a les paul looks better with a pickguard. somebody needs to tell slash.
