I'm tryin to come up with a group name and though this would be a good way to start. If you could describe music in one word and what it means to you in one word what would it be?

i think that is spot on.

'Personality' is a good one, but 'expression' is a similar sort of idea but better used in this discussion.

Lots of people play music that isn't in their personality, but you can't argue that it's not an expression of something they could feel inside. So I'm going to go with league and say expression.

Lol, giving us a one word limit is a bad thing. I say people should just write a paragraph on what music is (to them).

but, expression is what its all about in the core of the musical soul.

I think this thread brings up an interesting thought. So many words can describe the same thing. Personally, I feel that soul is the most defining word for music. Expression works, but what are is the music expressing? The musicians soul. It's what drives so many people in this life, and gives us hope, and happiness.

But seriously, I would have to say "Reward". Music is never easy to master, but finally nailing a really hard part on any instrument is worth all the effort you put in.

I love all the places that music can take you in your mind. It can cut through the years and take you back to a place in your past or it can set a new bench mark for you to revisit in the future. Music is a powerfull thing. A little corny and alot more than one word but that is what music is to me.
