Just 2 of my favorites. Each one shown in 2 positions. The 2nd CMaj7 uses a G for the bass note. All of these are movable with roots on the E or A string.

CMaj7 Amin9
e--8----3--------7---3
B--8----5--------5---1
G--9----4--------5---4
D--9----5--------5---2
A--10---3--------7---0
E--8----3--------5-----

I've really been enjoying the Cmaj7 but I'm a sucker for a sus and add9's too.

The "nicest" chord I know is Cmaj open position. My favorite chord in E minor open played/strummed from the bottom string up like in Paint it Black.

I love Minor 7th chords, mostly Gm7 and Cm7.
I also like to throw in a 9th in the minor 7th chords for a fuller, more pleasing sound.

My 2nd favorite would be suspended 2nd and suspended 4th chords.
Esus2 and Gsus2 (and it's not because it's read as Jesus too)
Fbsus4 and Asus4.

^^^ I do believe you are correct gs.

@V3 Your first E chord looks like an EminMaj7(no5th) and the other is an Emin6.

From this to this
e-0--1-----------------7--8
B-0--3-----------------7--11
G-x--3-----------------9--10
D-2--3-----------------9--8
A-2--1-----------------7--8
E-0--1-----------------x--x

Sorry for the double post but it would not let me add tab in the edit.

A sus 2 or 4 is when you replace the 3rd with a 2nd or 4th.
If it has the 3rd then its an add9 or add11.

Someone correct me if im wrong but thats how I understand it.

that Cadd9 is actually just the same chord I mentioned which i typed
E m7#5.

Chord tool gave them both. Is there some reason there are so different chord names to same chord? and which one should be used?

@Emp I think it depends on what key you're in. There are a bunch of scales that can make the same chord. Well, thats what I think at least idk if I'm right.

All 7th chords are closely related to another chord.
