I don't have a band (well not yet, I am in talks of getting a back up vocalist, so we'll see in a few months) But I go by the name "The Raccoonteur"

Former band - "The Definition of normal"
(Vocalist/Bassist went to different school, drummer dropped of face of earth)

Current 1-man solo - "Burnt Pumpkin Seeds"
(Highly influenced by The [old] "Smashing Pumpkins" and A want to destroy everything in sight.

all of those names evoke feelings that make me want to not listen to them, regardless of their music (the end of the b3geinning? really?)

every once in a while i hear a phrase that makes me think "that'd be a good band name". i can't think of any off the top of my head right now except for "the to-go cups". it's sort of a neighborhood thing. all the bars in my neighborhood will give you "to-go cups" in plastic. you can walk down the streets in my 'hood with an open container and the cops will not stop you. all bars let you take beer in plastic cups outside. hell, sometimes drinking beer on the streets is more fun than drinking in the bars themselves!

so anyway, i like the name because it evokes a feeling of fun with no pretentiousness. if i see a band named "trample the weak" i think 'oh, these guys think very highly of themselves, they're trying to be cool and badass'. but if i hear of a band called "the to-go cups" i'm like 'hey, these guys sound like a lot of fun!'

the to-go cups? really? if I see a band named "the to-go cups" I think "oh, these guys are lame as hell." now they could have been great... but thats the kind of things me and people like me think when we hear "the to-go cups".

I guess it really depends on the type of person you are...

Berserker/Ish/Topanga are the only bands ive been into,now im recording with ish,and doing my solo Alex Berserker stuff,alongsideelectronic projects ive ben involved such as INIX,S-B Noise,RAZ,Bizzare Contact,are the ones i remember :p
