Alriiiiiighty then folks!
It's time for the fourth music challenge!
So, as before - you'll have to choose a number between 1 to 10
And whatever number you choose I will PM you a linked video - this video will be a backing track for a random genre! I want YOU to express yourself over this backing track!
I can provide MP3s for every backing track listed if you want it.
Once we're done this time we'll do a vote to see who's improvisation was the best!
The winner will receive... hmm... Karma?
Maybe we can all choose what the winner will get before we start - that way it'll be more fun!

No real way of recording guitar right now and I have to fix some issues with my rig so I can't do this one.
However I am curious about whether these competitions are cyclic cause I saw the first one and thought if that was going when I was a member I woulda loved to do it.

Yeah, I do new music challenges every few months- I'm doing this one when everyone can since it's the summer I figured more of us would be able to play.
Coleman suggested we do solos over similar backing tracks - so yeah.

Cool beans. Done and dusted.
Now, are we going to talk about what the winner gets or is that just something that no one really cares about? (Not fussed - overall glad people are participating!) Thought it might be something to motivate people a little bit more though!

@ Emp - niiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! Very good stuff dude! A very smooth tone, too! I like the distortion change, half way through. Good melodic phrasings, too. :) Actually, your distorted tone reminds me of the "Go, Johnny, Go" track.
And that was a fast posting!
Awesome job dude. :)
@ GS - that's such a shame dude, was really looking forward to hearing yours! Why not post whenever you're ready? No real rush or anything.

Okay here's mine. I got a latin-style backing track. I recorded it with my phone (which I'm lucky to have, because it has better sound than my camera) so that's why it's at an awkward angle. Sorry about that. :p

Nice improv there dude. :) I would think about timing though - count the bars for the track and the intro... 4 to 8 bars in and then start the improv would be perfect - Timing is essential.
Your melodic phrasing is very cool though dude :) Definitely keep those licks alive!

Thanks man. I recorded the BT into Cakewalk then the guitar through a POD xtlive (clean with delay/reverb). It allowed me to mix both with separate faders.
