mobile chat would mean you could acess this website from your mobile phone,and app means apllication,kinda like the shortcuts on a desktop

Could u explain application a little better. And I know what a shortcut is and that confuses me more.

ok an app is a special thing that people with cell phones use to get new features on their phones,succh as games, or an email provider,the litterally have an app for almost every business,it stays on your phne with a little icon so all you have to do is click it and you get that apps feature,make sense?

jeff is cringing bcuz i think he is the one who wants to help create the chat room and the app.,@NULLNAUGHT cell phnes are cool but not a neccessity.

And I don't do chatrooms... that's just a script that you can plug in to the website. I don't need to write that.

99.999999 percent of all chatroom are pointless. I believe one here wouldn't be.

the cool thing about a chat room is thst we wouldnt have to refresh the page every time somebody posts somthing new

hmm good point maybe it wasnt personal,but it was a insulting attack toward the way i explained something,he could explained it himself,he could have chosee to hold his tongue,but did he,no he simply cringed at my intelligence toward the subject matter,nullnaught was happy with my explaination,but i guess jeff felt that his"internal computer programmer" felt the need to post a negative commebt towards my post..

I can't help but cringe at how the average person looks at electronics. There is so much going on under the hood, that it would make electronic devices almost impossible to use by your average joe.

An application facilitates this.... masking the background work and providing you with a simple gui (graphical user interface... basically like the buttons/layout of a browser, or the layout of microsoft word) or other interface (command prompt... text only... etc) that allows you to interact with a computer to perform a task.

Your understanding is fine, just the way you explained it was off.

i dont think nullnaught would. And i really think when someone creates a chatroom i dont think that they should cry about the difficulty of it. Please dont take that the wrong way jeff. Im almost sorry i even mentioned the idea. :(

Jeff mentioned that most chat rooms are pre-scripted and are usually a plug-in(admin would need to do it I believe however). So it's not really the difficulty of putting one on the site here, but something that was completely unrelated to the idea of putting a chat room here that led to an "argument" :P

@case211. prescripted meaning? And what do you mean by a chatroom being a plug-in? Computer terminology is NOT my strong point. Thats pretty obvious.

correct me if im wrong but i think wat case is trying to say is that the software needed to create a chatroom is already preprogrammed,all that admin would have to do is install it.

basically a java based plugin, which is usable over the internet, not really any software needed outside of that I believe(been a while since my actual computer class days ha)

Prescripted means that the software/program doesn't need to be written as JustJeff pointed out before.

and don't worry Nullnaught, you just saw the extent of my computer expertise haha
