I think everything here is good. I know I play fast but I'm not always clean when I play fast like AlexB. Justjeff is a master at the acoustic. Not just his technique but writting! I can say something good about everyone on this forum really. That's why I come here. You guys all have passion for your music and you all inspire me. It's not how good or how fast your are but how much you enjoy your instrument. Also, I started playing when I was 13 or 14 and now I'm 47! I should be a lot better by my own standards but thats just me. Guitarists wanting to play fast and sound like everyone else is not new. I've been trying to do this since I started. Really, blues it what I do best and naturally. I just get bored doing it. I like to try to do things I can't do in addition to what I can.
Anyways, I don't like to judge or be judged but to encourage and be encouraged.
Betcha cant play this could be anything:
Fast, feeling, improv, airguitar, fingerpicking..There are loads of things.
And I seriously dont want to start this whole "speed argumentation" over again.. I am so sick and tired of it..Always the same discussion
@ Macandkanga:
That was pretty cool, you can for sure play blazingly fast! ^^

yes EMB5490 that is the point, but its all in good fun and nobody should be emberrassed about how good bad soulful fast slow or anything they are, sure i kinda didnt want this to to be a competetion but everybody here seems to think it is,i just thought of this like the licks section were everyone posts stuff, but on this thread we get to watch everybody play everybody elses stuff and compare licks, and show off are skills.i mean seriously though alot
of practiced for along time to reach are level of speed and precision is it so wrong for us to want to flaunt every once and awhile?kinda like MAC did.

and too all the non-speed oriented guitarists dont fret{no pun intended} post a lick, mark it as beginer do whatever because fast guitarist usaully cant play slow licks so you will have t5e advantage XD
I'm no speed oriented guitar player, but I'm pretty sure a lot of guitarists can't do what I do :)

Aaaand LOL, if someone can mark Jeff's stuff to beginner because its "slow acoustic lick"... ROFL... ... Ill quit. HAHHAH...
To be honest, empirism, a lot of what I play is not THAT complicated. I wouldn't quite rank it at beginning, but it's not quite crazy expert :-P
Once you get that independent thumb going, the options are limitless. So if I were to put up a tab for some o the stuff I play, it really won't look that complicated until you try to play it.
There is some really technical and complex stuff that sounds like ****,and also some really easy stuff that sounds like **** too,the thing is about being musical, whether you're doing some prog metal or some acoustic chill stuff, anything goes as long as it sounds good!

OK goddamit new rules......everybody just post your licks speed oriented or not and rate how you difficult you think it will be for other guitarists too play speed is not i reapeat not a factor
Hey mac how do you like your warlock? I have a 1982 BC Rich Bich and that thing is awesome. I've been looking at getting some more early 80's rich's, but don't have the scratch. As for the playing other peoples riffs thing...yeah I can't hang wit you guys. I would jump off the bridge with phip and luthier, but I don't have any skill in that area either and would probably screw it up. I'll just stay home and eat cookie dough.
I love it. I brought it to this luthier in my area back in 95 or so and he refretted the whole thing with jumbo frets. I really did'nt have to have this done but it was like $120 at the time which I thought was cheap and the guy does work for famous guitarists. The pick-ups are seymour duncan full metal shreads which were installed by my friend who use to use my guitar at gigs. He liked the look and wanted premium pick-ups to go through his Mesa Boogie dual rec.
These guitars, with the bolt-on neck, are legit B.C. Rich guitars but they were made in Korea and assembled in the US. I would buy another if I saw it! A made in USA BC Rich from the 80's is just too expensive.
I've got an effin extreme lick to show you guys, but i still can't play it!
Here is the lick,@ 3:03,its a track from a friend (Bizzare Contact, one of the most famous producers of psytrance in the world) Those crazy 16ths arpeggios @ 145 BPM,damn its hard! when i get them down i will upload the lick and the tab
