Huge fan! Lennon is my idol. I grew up with the lads. I think I was 11 when I heard my first Beatles tune. In America I think the first release was "she loves you" and the last three seconds of the song (harmonies) blew my mind. The Beatles wrote the soundtrack to my youth. At first I didn't have a favorite but as they developed over the years I came to like Lennon's "edge"

1963 Ford Country Squire station wagon. Had a 390 under the hood. The perfect "parking" vehicle. Went parking by the lake one night and the bank gave away. Car was perfectly balanced and one wrong move and the thing would have been underwater. Never saw her again, don't know why!
Ahhh the memories! LOL

Neil Young "Heart of Gold" (easy chords with some nice little hammer-ons) a good first song for beginners.

JustJeff says: Electric, or Acoustic guitar?
My "go to" guitar is acoustic! A Martin HD28.
I do have an electric. A Fender Tele w/ a blues Jr amp (modded). I don't have any pedals to go with it yet. Not ready to explore that aspect of "sounds". It's waiting for me to get motivated. lol
My original intent was to learn the more difficult of the two first and I have been faithful to that goal. I love them both but I always reach for the Martin, always.

hmmmmm Well, going back to the "good old days" hahaha The classics; Mash, Cheers, Taxi, Northern Exposure.
Lately; Scrubs
I like comedy, not a lot of dead bodies ie CSI etc. I see too much of that stuff in the electronics field LMAO!
I'm a documentary freak really. nature, science, history
You can keep those "reality shows", not a fan of that stuff.

Well I have to say I like to watch shows about most sciences. All of that "stuff" fascinates me, including astronomy, archeology and Physics (love that string theory). I just thought of one I don't care for and that is medical, at least in the sense that I'm not into blood and guts on the TV screen. However I love anything that describes how the human brain works. Geology can be a bit dry for me but I don't change the channel. I try to learn a little something about anything I can wrap my mind around. I guess my favorite of those listed above would be archeology. Beats the hell out of "swamp loggers" or "top chef" LOL.

Soon I hope. It's been a while since I put anything on. I'm working on some covers and mostly it's the vocals that have slowed me down but I'm workin' on it! I have a couple of original tunes but probably won't put those up until I am completely satisfied with the lyrics and music.
Expect to see some acoustic songs and possibly one on electric (CCR).

Me and you BBT! And half the members of this forum too.
Actually that is a hard one to answer. Recently I've been introduced (Carl Snow) to NRBQ and i have to say I'm diggin' em. No Giant hits, but some damn fine music! So I'm gonna answer with that for now. I may add to that later if someone comes to mind. There are so many out there that are fine musicians that never get the air time or publicity. It's a shame.

My biggest influence, the reason I wanted to play in the first place? The Beatles, hands down. After that oddly enough, anyone who can play the acoustic (James Taylor et al). There are so many different styles and sounds that it's hard to pick a few. If I hear something and I like it, I am influenced. Tough question.
Who is my biggest influence in life? My Mom. No contest. She had multiple sclerosis for 30 years and never complained a single day. Always had a smile and something good to say and the patience of a saint. (with me for a son it was mandatory!) I lost her just before Christmas and miss her terribly. After that......Abe Lincoln.
