i wonder how!!

ok can any one explane to me how musicians keep there work i mean there solos and chhords in the songs ti use it later or like a reminder???

record it quickly, hum it into a microphone or something.
I usually tab it out if I like it enough, then I'll know exactly how I did something.

i usually plug it into guitarpro, or sometimes i just play it over and over enough for me to remember

I can't express this enough. The more you record you playing, the more you will remember. I can't tell you how many times I'm like, I wonder how I played that song... and then i'd load up my soundclick page, listen to it, and figure out MY OWN SONG.

It makes it a lot easier to pull those things back.

I doubt a lot of musicians use tab... it's more of a simple thing that us novices do. Learn to read sheet music.

It's easier to communicate music when it is heard... so I'd say recording is easier.

I can't speak for every musician in this world.

tabbing is good for quick reference though ;)
Justjeff is right though, sheet is good to know.

hearing is loads easier to do though, because then you don't have to explain everything if someone is looking just at the riff on paper.

Yeah, there are a lot of riffs that I've written and haven't recorded that are long gone... I wish that didn't happen! Sad thing is... some of the ones I recorded I can't even play! I don't remember what I tuned the guitar to or I have trouble finding the correct fingering...

u know i have post some short tracks in biggner forum tittled ( some thing i do in free time ) but i cannot do play them aagain i donot remember and i've not tab them when i played them

When you have a background done, you could jam over and jam jam over it again, before you found out a riff you like... at that time write the key and chords down, its not matter if they are tabbed or simply to paper, but just how you like it.

In solos its little harder, I myself improvise every solo I do. But solos can be planned too, if you plan your solos, write notes down, but then its all the same than every other song... practise, practise, practise...

Its all the matter of point of view.

I am simple I just play the same 4 songs I know over and over that way I have no need to waste brain cells..... LOL.... JJ... I have no real method... I forget crap all the time..

Write it down dude... look at only the few licks from my collection! Best way other than recording.
