Houston, we have a problem...With my strat...THE TUNERS WONT LOCK.

Anything wrong? Goes out of tune in minutes, ITs an ibanez neck, so it shouldent be doing that...Is there anyway i can fix it? Like bridge wise or somthing

I would say better tuners. Even though it's an Ibanez neck, by the model name on the back (GRX40), it's not really that great. I have a GRX40 and, while mine stays in tune decently, it's far from perfect. Any Ibanez guitar with a "G" at the start of the name is of the Gio series, which is their lowest series.

How out of tune does it get? Does it have a bad locking tremolo? Tuners usually arent the problem but everything is possible.

Well if its a floyd rose copy on a entry level guitar then that might be the problem but I know a couple of guitarists who tune their guitars after every song. If its a locking tremolo like a floyd rose it may also be the locking nut. If the tuners are the problem you could always replace them with locking tuners.

OK firstly if you don't understand the term 'bad locking tremolo' you shouldn't be playing one. Secondly there are so many factors that can affect a guitar's tuning stability it would be virtually impossible to diagnose the problem here, you need to take it to your local guitar repair shop and ask them to check it out, or if you want to know for the future get yourself a good guitar maintenance book. How much do you whammy? If its that, that after you use the whammy bar, give it a nice jerk upwards to knockit back in tune. Some of the strings go flat when the pressure is released to yeah just jerk upward on the bar after the whammy. I got that from an EVH interview, so it must be GOOD. lol.

wait so your saying pulling the wammy bar up will put it back in tune? i dont think so. and some strings go out of tune more than others.

Well, from my own experience, it could just be a cheap guitar OR tighten the screws within the tuners.

My high E string always went out in my Epiphone, until I tightened the screw. But ONLY A LITTLE! Otherwise you'll find it impossible to spin that little bugger.

Yeah Grovers are great. I only ever tune my Epiphone unless I'm just going into drop D. They're nice.

Dude, that's twisting what I said, what I meant was if the term 'bad locking tremolo' makes no sense to you whatsoever it's questionable whether you understand a) what a locking tremolo actually is and b) what constitutes a 'bad' (and conversely, 'good') locking trem. I stand by all I said before. How many years have you been playing BTW?
