strings.....

ive seen no strings post over here.... how often do you cahnge them??
how often youd recommend i changed them.???? which ones u like the best??
i change them as often as 1 string brokes.... i like best the blue steel, good and durable

I actually started one of these to find out what people use a while ago, anyways I personally use Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom 10 - 52's and I change them roughly every 2 to 3 weeks depending whether I break a string, then again my Hamer has had the same strings for like 3 months so depends man.

I change mine at least once a month, and I prefer GHS 11 - 70's.
but i'm open minded, I tend to swing around in the string area.

I usually change mine every two weeks... but sometimes I'm pushed a little further if I can't make it into town or am stretched for cash.

Two weeks, or as necessary. I love the feel and sound of new strings, but I try to make them last while I can, even if they start to lose tuning real easy. I use GHS boomers TNT for electric, and Martin SP Medium for acoustics. The heavier the string, the brighter the tone. A little harder to play, but it's worth it. I use Ernie Balls when nothing else is available. I really don't know that much about the higher end strings, but I'd like to look at why theyre supposed to stand out.

err...yeh lol. i have had the same strings for 2 months. so ye... the strings tht came witht the guitar. i should prob change them.

also wut about set ups? how often should i get one? how do i kow if i need one? what do they do in a set up? tnx

They check intonation and stuff. You won't need to do it regularly really. Maybe once in a while if you feel something is a bit off.

I change mine every 6 months. Maybe 4. I use GHS progressive 9-42. These strings are good for fast playing like in thrash/punk/progressive.

yeah... i actually like more the sound of long time used strings, less metallic. i think its about your taste

Yeah... but after a while they wind up sounding dull... which you can make up for with EQ. I find taking a bit of treble and presence helps stop the stringings sounding so bright when they're just on.

i live for the bright metallic sound of new strings.

I use D'Addario "Regular Light Gauges." They're .010-.046. Very nice strings that I change roughly every two weeks to once a month.

I use my Earnie Ball (Super Slinky/Custom Gauge) strings until they pop.

i realy look after my strings, wash my hands befor use dry off after use, and i use fast fret, and even a possilsh, i get 2 months out of a set,

well i play guitar in winter drumline, so basically before every competition during the winter...which is basically every week. And during the summer i usually change them every 2 months during non winter season. as for my favorite kind it depends how much money i have.
if i have almost no money, i usually buy some cheap 2.00 strings that i cant remember.
if i have an alright amount of money, ill buy ghs boomers extra light gauge 9-42
otherwise, i'll buy ernie ball 10-46 (regular slinky/custom gauge)

lol change mine when
1)it gets so fuked up with my finger grease tht it sounds like ** 2)it constantly goes outta tune
3)it breaks
4)i get bored and need somthing to do lol

i play gitar every day, minimum for like 4 hours.

i normally change mine when they just become knackard, or ar just unplayable.
and my usual strings are rotosound pinks which comes with a free extra 1st, which is very useful. usually when i change the whole batch i fast frett them after and clean the neck before i stick on another batch

i use the same as Crunch D'Addario Regular Light Gauge 10-46

davidbahar has a great point about extending the life of your strings.
clean hands don't gunk up strings. i've had strings only last a week
because of this. if the strings don't gunk up,you can play them for
months like others have.

i use Ernie Ball super slinkies.. i usually wait till the snap then change them.. but if theyre really worn or gunky ill change them
