I heard that Stone Temple Pilots, singer Scott Weiland's previous band is going to reform. I very much doubt there'll be a GnR reunion though.

I never got into them. Not into Scott Weiland, and not a big Slash fan really.

Yeah, Scott Weiland was like the most anti-grunge grunge musician. VR are ok, I bought their debut album a few years ago.

I don't think Slash and Rose are seeing eye to eye. I don't see a reunion.

What do you mean by that?

I'm pretty sure that Core came out shortly after grunge broke, so they were recording it pre-grunge. that would really make STP a hair metal band wouldn't it?

i always considered STP to be grunge. i dont really like velvet revolver at all...its like a boring version of what would happen if you combined STP, Nirvana, and Saliva...its got the catchyness of nirvana, the grungyness of STP and the genericness of Saliva. pretty lame.

Pretty much answered that one yourself! Core was recorded and released in 1992, but everything about Weiland seemed to go against what grunge was going against in the first place. STP weren't a hair metal band, but Weiland would easily fit in singing in one, as far as image goes in my opinion.

Thats what i thought you were getting at anyways.

Anyways i enjoyed velvet revolver but these super groups like Velvet revolver and Audioslave don't last that long.

As with Guns N Roses, they could have been one of those classic bands, like the rolling stones and milked it for ever. Axl Rose is such a chump he ruied it for them all. Even if there was an GNR reunion, it would be a total joke.

I never liked Axl Rose. The dancing was always to much for me.

what about the rolling stones? does Mick Jaggers little chicken dance bother anyone?

I remember the momentum GNR had when i was in 7th grade, they were huge, then a year later it was all gone. I DL GNR's last cd and it was pure dung, i felt like someone was pissing in my ear it was so bad.

What I allows liked about STP, they were diverse. Each disk, earch song sounded diffrent. Sometimes it's hard to belive it all came form the same band. what genre...um....i would call it rock.

I cant believe the rolling stones were even brought up in a guitar forum. besides that the band pretty much defines "how can you listen to that s***", but mick jagger was a man who played a six and sometimes five stringed guitar. nothing more. he was/is a terrible guitar player. (in my opinion!!!)

sorry-i get aggravated when his name is brought up...the rolling stones are the single most overrated band ever to exist.

Velvet Revolver? Isn't the band Slash joined after Gun's 'N' Roses?

I think Slash's Snake Pit was between Gun's 'n' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Not totally sure but I think it was.

Haha, personally I like the Rolling Stones. I wouldn't say they're one of the greatest bands ever, like they're often called.

The Rolling Stones came up because i was trying to think of the silliest lead singer next to Axl Rose (I'm scared with micks chicken dance). I do think the Stones have a solid blues sound to them

Velvet Revolver sucks, end of story. Slash isn't even THAT good. I do, like some of his stuff. I'm a sort of fan of blues rock stuff.

I'd like to add that Slash is the only reason Velvet Revolver exists. Some of his solos are cool, though. And by the way, the people who are raggin on Axl Rose. Sure, granted he's a joke, a fag boy in tights dancing on stage. But think about it, that's where the money came from. The ladies loved Axl; that's why Guns n' Roses were so popular. Not many people had an appreciation for Slash or even the music at all. His voice wasn't that bad either.

cant see guns n roses ever doing a reunion.

the original band all hate axl for some stuff he said when drunk apparently :/.

and theres some stuff about him recording a different guitarists solo and using it instead of slash's lol.

vr i never really liked.

slither was a good song but the rest weren't too brilliant in my opinion.
