5 Years of Anger--Collaboration Project

This is a collaboration effort that me and GuitarSlinger have put together. I won't get into who did what unless you ask, so here you go! :)

Well, like most of GS's stuff Ive heard, I got an 'And Justice for All' vibe out of the rhythm section, and the leads reminded me of early Megadeth, which I know is one of your big influences

So I guess you could say, this is what Metallica should have sounded like =p

It made me giggle...

But actually, I did not do the leads... I was on the rhythm! haha

really? I could have sworn it was! ah well, sounds good anyway!

...and I wanted to use my high school sleeping time-I mean sociology class for once haha You know, see what people might think of the song or rhythm/leads without having any real picture of who it was :P

While I liked the song, the tone was....not so great. It sounded like static. It had a nice, solid rhythm and some brilliant leads.

that was a result of trying to get the sound out of the low mids :P before that it had great tone but it kind of all ran together with the drums and bass and ended up sounding very "mushy". So in order to give the rhythm's more breathing room next to the drums and bass I had to get out of the lower mid mix. Hence the static-y nature of the sound.

EDIT: I redid the EQ'ing and compression on the rhythm track to get it back to it's original sound. Didn't do anything else to it though aside from making the bass more "felt".

Pretty cool Case. I got the message you sent out on Reverbnation so I've been waitin for this one. Keep it up man.

I suppose you did the last solo and guitar slinger did the first reverbered one? i dont know,but im going honest in here

i found the track way too repetitive,that riff struck in my head and drainedd my brainsss for the next 30 minutes,you should try to focus not on making heavy or rifify thrash metal and a solo,focus on making an actual track,focus on making something interesting.

I know these are your first works,so im not going to mess with the production/recording side of the track,but you should really focus on that musical part,performance is nice,but next time tro to do a more structured track,not just trowing random metal riffs one after another to make a riff collection in 3 minutes with solos

I didn't do either solo.

I can see what you are pointing out, but honestly in this type of instrumental track, I don't want to have it be to the point that you can throw vocals on it. I want it to have riffs that are different from each other rather than repetitive. I'm not trying to make a song that will have vocals here, since I didn't set out with that intention.
I understand that having vocals would make me want to have that more repetitive "verse"/"chorus" riff play but here, it was more about the rhythm "singing" since there were no leads over them.
SO, with that in mind, you might be able to see now why they're all different from one another. I didn't want to have vocals over them, and since that is the case, the rhythms should be distinct from each other to make the whole track a musical journey. I didn't and still don't want my instrumental work to be basically "just a backing track" with a solo over the top. I'm trying to make the rhythm tracks interesting to listen to over having a solo cover the entire song(that's abrasive even to me).
In short, I can see what you are saying and I have to disagree with why you are saying it. I really want to do something different that what has been done before.

Second collaboration on the site!!! woohoo!, moremoremorme. 1:20 riff made me smile man. I liked the song, thou I was lost the "theme" while listening, but anyway it sounded heavy and really cool. Nice job. Last solo was insane :D...
