Yeah, they are. I figured he was asking about sampled drum tracks instead of actual drums being recorded. Probably should have specified the case of sampling drums vs actual recording of drums haha my bad
Hahaha, I'm first O.O
School starts tomorrow so I thought I'd post this now, a little unfinished, rather than not posting it at all...
NUMBER 12 = CELTIC!
I decided to do a "guitars only-song" (partly because the only other instrument I can play fairly well is the piano, which is not very celtic-sounding), and was trying to emulate the sound (or at least the "feel") of a bagpipe with the distorted one...
Please mind this before listening:
1. This song was recorded using the microphone from a headset normally used for skypeing.
2. The software used for recording was Audacity.
Hence there were some latency issues, and the sound quality is not fabulous. -.-
Anyway, enough pretexts, hehe, please enjoy!
Cool start George, now I know to who I turn when I need some medieval scale stuff :P..
Yeah, neither I was happy about sounds or final mix, doh well.. when Jazzy told that mine is blues...*Sigh* haha.. so I thought this is named "Jazz left me, but I still got the blues"... but feared moderator wrath, I just named it AGC blues.
Well, even its blues, there are 2 things that I never done before... maybe you find out what aspect they are :P

I Hope you've enjoyed it though!!

Funny you say that. I wrote the song as an instrumental and when I listened to it I thought it sounded like music from Fritz. That where the name came from. I thought you and George did a great jobs.
Really? haha cool, yeah that cartoon just got me into swing. Like Cherry poppin daddies, It was so cool that I was totally sold. Best dance music there is imo :P..

@ Mosh, dewd is that you singing? If so, it's excellent. I really like this track... I feel like I'm sneaking around with Pink Panther. awwww yeaaaah.
Alright, I finished my track on thursday but I wanted to add like long melodic vocals.... sadly my computer is a total bumtard and refuses to recognize anything so I'm going to show you guys what I've got and then just post up the vocal one later...
The track is on here:
http://www.myspace.com/miragegeneration
I will upload it onto Soundclick later for those who can't be bothered to go onto that site.
The genre Case chose for me was dubstep!
(It's the last track on the site by the way! called "Atomic Blasts on the Moon") Enjoy!!

@Jazzy Yeah that's me. The only part i faked is the drums. My set is apart from my PC so i used drums from my key board. Set the tempo and press start. Excuse me I gotta go listen to some Mirage Generation :D
Jazz - cool track - amazing work on the effects, that was literally incredible. Are you studying music at uni? You must be when you can do crazy stuff like this, haha.
EMB - some tasty riffs, i really dig it, good work, seems like you are making good progress!
George - you probably had the hardest topic so far! i wouldnt really know where to start, but i think it turned out quite well, i felt like being a viewer on the local highland games in the middle of scotland just eating some haggis.
Moshzilla - nice vocals, you have a good voice! very smooth chordchanges, very jazzlike.
I am still working on mine, i got most of the parts, but i am still stuggeling with recording, so it will take a bit more time im afraid.

Yeah I am, and it was because of Uni that I even discovered such a random genre - this is my first attempt at dubstep and I really like it! But we don't learn how to make certain styles - we're supposed to already know our stuff, yeah we learn some crazy theory - but that learning is to help us apply the theory to what we already know. My course is to make commercial compositions, in whatever field they tell us to do. My goal is to make soundtracks for games/anime/films :)

Jazzy, you should make this an annual thing or something. I definitely want to participate when I improve enough to where I feel comfortable attempting to write something and play it. All good things in time!

How do you embed the soundclick player by the way? Where is it on the site 'cause I've been looking for ages... -_-
It took me forever to find my song after i uploaded it. There has to be an easier way. I had to go back into the upload my own song page, then to the band management, then a link that said i had 1 song uploaded, either full song info or play song and look for WIDGETS. The widget it gave me will show every song I put on soundclick but IF YOU CAN FIND IT there is a page that gives full song info. On that page it offers single song widget. GOOD LUCK. My page has 115 visitors and i know they are all me.

haha thanks man ;) Now I just need to be a master of karate and friendship for everyone! :D
@Jazz
Noice!! I definitely enjoyed the sort of randomness that came and went as the song went on ;)
@Emp
Very nice dude ;) I can't believe you hadn't really done blues before haha Came together very well
@Guitar George
That was an interesting sub for bag pipes haha It worked pretty well though man, very nice job ;) also just curious, what particular scale were you in for that Celtic/medieval sound?
@Mosh
Damn. You can sing bro, very nice voice and very good guitar playing man, very smooth on everything :D

Thanks Case. After listening to your track now I know why you said you needed LOTS OF DRUGS. Great song dude. I've never heard of Smooth Trance as a genre or dubstep. Makes me wonder what everyone else has.
On the side I went to your Sound click and saw pictures of you playing. PICTURES OF YOUR RIGHT HAND..that does look freaky man but if it's your comfort zone go for it.
