one of my guitar heroes...

i just reread the "bands nobody has heard of but should" thread, and i saw a post by myself mentioning brendan small. i'm not sure if anyone knows who brendan small is but uhhhhh he's pretty awesome. h was the executive producer/writer/star of this old cartoon show called "home movies" which aired on saturdy mornings and was then picked up my cartoon network's "adult swim". now, he is the E.P. and writer, star of the show "metalocalypse" on adult swim -- a show about the biggest metal band in the universe...

so long story... medium-long... 'home movies' featured a LOT of guitar work, and he did all of it. the show about a metal band obviously features a ton of guitar work, and he does all of it. i saw this video a while a go, long before i even picked up a guitar for this first time. it's very intimidating... in fact, it's MORE intimidating now that i know how to play guitar... because now i know what he's doing and know how good he is.! before i just saw some dude playing guitar, now i'm watching his hands....


anyway like i said i'm rambling, i also love his pretentiousness. he's just such prick about how good he is, i love it!

dude, i totally know who that asian dude from dragonforce is!!! i actually have that track saved as a guitarpro file on my PC and... it makes me cry everytime i see it :'(

but i am very glad that others appreciate brendan small / home movies / metalocalypse / he's done other stink, right?

ugh. herman li is so bad. so bad. so fake and so bad.

I feel the same way about him... he doesn't realize that after a certain point, it doesn't matter how much faster you can play than the other guy, it becomes just noise.
I can't stand DragonForce in general either.

I like him in TTFATF. The others, eh.

But he is fast as f* and whammys alot! and makes it sound good (sometimes)

i like dragonforce's music but nothing else... not the guitarists the singer or them playing live
