i cant stand too much distortion, and ive learned i started playing with too much distortion, i use a lot of distortion i can get a reall good sound a cross between the live gary moore still got the blues and randy rhoads tone, especially when i crank it the tone leads towards randy rhoads, however i ALWAYS practice clean, if u cant play somthing clean u cant play it distorted. distortion hides your mistakes along with effects.
the pick is like half the size of the previous picks i was using and a little pointier, and yeah EMB you right you have to be able to play it clean, which i do alot because my mom hates the sound of distortion. I just always have the distortion on in my videos.

The Dunlop Tortex picks alsways seem really thin to me. I've never got a good hard strong one from them. My favourite picks are what came with my Gibson, they are nice strong thick but small picks. Wish I found more around to buy, I keep losing and finding them :(
I quite like distortion. But only when the playing is nice and clean, otherwise it just sounds plain nasty with sort of muffled notes I think. If its used right I like it...which will be why I never use it myself!
I like the distortion, I love it nasty, I love it raw or even dirty... I just love it,even if its creamy, punchy... everything is fine... it give me energy and give me kicks... just what I seek from music and playing.
