What should we do

Just an idea, How about a 'just for laughs' section (a sort of much lighter hearted version of general chat) where we can insult, cajole and generally pull each other to bits and no one is allowed to take offence. A sort of 'letting off steam' section that leaves g.c alone for more serious general discussions, and the rest of the forum for music/guitar related issues.

It's up to the admin really, it's his site so it's his choice what goes on here.

I voted for "it matters what the "fun" is some stuff is just completeley random and unneeded" but the one about moderation means basically the same thing.

You can still have music-only topics and have fun. It's the way it used to be for ages, and noone complained because it was too strict or too boring.

If we had a section where we could "insult, cajole and generally pull each other to bits" then I can see things are going to go crazily wrong with it. If you want a place like that then go to Teen Chat Place or something. (I've never used it myself - it was the first thing that came up on google!).

I'll let the Admin know about it. See what he thinks. But you guys need to remember, this is his website, and he made it like this for a reason, we have no authority to tell him how we want this site to be, we're merely his guests. Don't you think it's rude to tell him to change his place?

Because if we just stop people from joking about, then this forum will suck. It's good to learn things, and to be honest, since I've joined this forum, I haven't learnt anything that I don't already know. But I know that I've helped others.

I have no need to prove I'm better than anyone either, I'll offer my help when needed. But in the mean time, I use the rest of the sites activities to learn. Because the point in learning is to teach yourself anyway.

I've personally enjoyed this forum, even though I had a spat with Deefa when I first joined; I still think everyone here is decent and are just being themselves. Which is exactly why I like this place.

It's good to learn things from a formal point of view, but it's also important to become friends with those you're learning from, so they can understand how "you" learn and teach you in your own way.
