What's the local scene like around your areas?
The closest major scene in my area is Columbus, Ohio. I live in the middle of nowhere so it's hard for me to meet other musicians to play with, I was just curious about other people's music scenes. |

San Diego doesen't offer much. The people here don't know what style to adopt. There is only like one club near where I live that features classic rock. You ask people in the U.S what rock is and they'll be cluless |

Well I live in-between two major small towns, Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth, so that's where a lot of people go for big gigs and such, but theirs also festivals in the two towns nearest me which is where a lot of bands get known.
For me, I have to lug shit into school in-order to play with other musicians and half of them can't be arsed to being there own gear in -.- |

Funny you should say that.:P SD has one of the strongest and most influential punk/hardcore/post hardcore scenes in the US with bands like Drive Like Jehu, Rocket from the Crypt, The Locust, Swing Kids, Hot Snakes and Antioch Arrow all hailing from that area. |

The scene in Stoke-on-Trent, England is hardcore punk at the moment. But that's more just what everyone is in to - there aren't loads of good hardcore punk bands - just a few.
A lot of other bands aswell... got quite a few below average metal bands (tight playing, boring songs), some indie bands, some pop punk bands etc. |

Philadelphia is kinda lame...lots of bands and plenty of places to play, but most of the bands are terrible and all the better bands dont need and other members... |

the music scene in my town of 100,000 people is surprisingly massive. It's almost exclusively metal, ranging from melodic death to groove/post thrash stuff. the shows here draw hundreds of people every week, and a few bands are getting signed, a band from my town called 'for today' is touring the country right now... I went to high school with their guitarist |

Ok, so I live in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, which is pretty big (300,000 in the city itself, but 1 million or so in the surrounding area).
We get a lot of the big name acts when they go on tour.
But there is also a thriving local scene, and a lot of young Metal and Rock bands. Plus we have Chuck Berry. |

The music scene here in Salt Lake is actually pretty diverse. Lots of great stuff going on. And we have digitech lol. |

I live in a college town so you can find about any kind of band that you want. The majority of the bands are southern/classic rock. There are several local bars where a lot of the better bands play regularly.
Really a fun place to be when I was younger. |

There's no jazz around my area, which is a shame. I've been out of the city though for a few though but it's just no convenient. Shame, I think jazz is better live. |
