My electric: When i run out of spare string length. (double locking, so i can just reatach broken strings) or tone gets really dull.
My Acoustic: used lightly maybe 3x a week, so i change when the string breaks.
For YOU? Its your preference, if you like the dull tone, change when you start breaking strings. If not, every week to month depending on your usage. |

How often should you? If your strings dont break by the time their gunky and cleaning them with a cloth doesnt do anything... Yeah change them then.

Mine don't usually break, so I just change them when they're getting rusty and it's hard to play. New strings really make a difference when you're going from gunky old rusted ones. |
