Hey all, this is a slight break from the norm. but, can anyone point out some singing tips? I've written, recorded, and mixed the instruments, but I can't sing well at all, and I would like to see if doing something daily might help with the range of notes that I have.
I am singing the song because I couldn't wait for our vocalist to do it so, I tried and failed, but not as badly as I expected lol |

Ok, being a bad singer sucks, and I am one too. This is some things that have helped me.
1. Sing alone - I feel much more relaxed when i've got the house to myself and I can just do a better Job.
2. what ever key your song is in record yourself playing the guitar and try spanning 2 diffrent octaves or more. Record it slow. Then play it back but sing, use your voice to match the notes.
3. The more you practice the better you will be
And jazz has a singing lesson you may want to check out. I also have a singing system somewhere pm me and i'll see if i can find it for you |

When I'm singing i always do warm up exercises with my voice no matter how silly it sounds. I hear that water helps your voice. And when your on your own, try singing a song your comfortable singing and something that you think your good at singing, I do that and it always helps. |

@justjeff
I'm a little bit broke, and no teacher that I don't believe that too many teachers will do it for free :(
BTW if you like Guitar Hero/Rock Band, there's a site called jamlegend.com. Its basically a lot of amateur artists posting some songs and then they track like guitar hero/rock band except with two settings(tap the buttons or hit another key to 'strum' the 'notes').
