NEW YORKERS JAM WITH ME

hi there, I'm moving to New York (Nassau County) from the UK next week and need to find people to jam with when i get there. i would also like to find a band as soon as possible. im not going to bother telling you if i'm any good or not you can work that out for yourself if we meet up. i will tell you what i can and cant do: i can sing. play rhythm or lead guitar (i mainly play steel string acoustic but always have fun when i play electric), i dabble in harmonica have little to no knowledge of theory (but i am going to have lessons in conjunction with learning the piano) im good at writing lyrics and general improv. stylistically im easy, by that i mean ill play whatever but i try and steer clear of post hardcore or emo stuff caus it makes me cringe.

BULL **ING ***. sorry, ny sucks major ass lol. dirty smelly, i mean the island isnt bad, out east is beautiful, but the city and queens and around there is just bad. traffic, dirty, noisey. badd. where u be at? im vacationing as of now and stuff prob be back around when school starts :( then no time :( lol anyway, id love to see vids of you singing!

Hey man. I'm always down for a jam session. I'm on Long Island out east a bit in Islip. I am down to drive out a bit if you guys wanna get together.

I'm an acoustic guitarist... mainly solo fingerstyle but I can do quite a bit. You can check out some of my home recordings... there should be posts with them. :-P

I'll only be in town for a week. Starting Sunday... and probably going until the following Sunday. I go back to Virginia after that so >.

and the yankees won so man world series u cant count them on yer fingers and toes...anyway the yankees havnt been doin too well in past recent years. this year could be good.

ill be in island park (to start with) its a bit of a dive but iv got family there. and with the risk of verbal abuse i will tell you that i'm not really a team sports fan (dont tell anyone caus i hear you can get sent to jail for that in the states) however i did go see the Mets v Yankees game a few years back. and yes i am really lookin forward to the pizza and the ability to go out at 4 in the morning and get a freshly cooked bagel and of course the gigantic music stores that you can wonder around for hours.
i land a JFK on the 7th but i'll only have my acoustic guitar with me until all my stuff arrives around the 21st and even then my electric guitar is pretty substandard, iv been meaning to get a new one for a while but I've been a student and as a result constantly broke

all sorts: rock, gypsy jazz, swing, funk, blues, middle eastern folk metal, punk, ska, atmospheric surrealist rambles through the land of discordance: depends on my mood and who I'm jamming with i like to think I'm pretty adaptable.

cool, whenever i jam i always jam to dead style progressions...

I wish I could, but I no longer live in New York! I've been in Virginia for the past 4 years now, and will be in Maryland by DC for the next 4-6. o_0
