A lot of people like Dunlop's Cry-Baby, which is probably the most widely known wah as well as being what I use. I've heard only good things about Snarling Dogs too. It's probably best you try out different ones and decide which one you like.

yeah i would go with the basic cry-baby it's for around 70 USA dollars. to see if you like em. the cry-baby ain't the best by far but it is solid and worth the money. then when you want to upgrade if you do go top line with RMC, budda, and stuff. i'd skip the middle stuff they aren't any good or there just dumb.

Cry babies are terrible wah pedals...just my opinion. even the $140 cry babies are just awful sounding. Check out the ibanez weeping demon wah, it sounds freaking awesome, and it has tone varitation capabilites which far exceed most wah pedals in its price range. Not only that...but steve vai, until he got his custom wah, was a weeping demon user. but like crunch said, you should try out as many as you can until you find something you like.

yeah i agree there bad but the one for 70 gives you the chance to get a taste for em at a cheap cost and you can mess around with it at home and get a feel for em cause just using stuff at the store for 20 min really isn't enough

I have a crybaby. It's ok, but nothing special. I would have preferred to buy a wah with an adjustable sweep. It is £59 from GAK.

I like my Cry-Baby :( I also appreciate that I could kill a buffalo with it and the thing would still work like a champ.

The more expensive crybabys allow you to adjust sweep but you can only get MAYBE +-3 on the top and bottom. With the ibanez one you can take the entire frequency down to hell or up to heaven because the pedal is made for bass and guitar. It really is freakin awesome. you should check it out they arent very expensive either.

I think Zakk needs to tone down on the wah lol. not saying his pedal sucks, he just uses it too much imo

haha, Zakk is the sole reason that i even play guitar, he holds a special place in my heart, but even i think he uses it too much :b
think of how much more beautiful his songs that use wah would be without wah?
I just dislike wah, it takes away that sound, you know?

The advantage of buying a dunlop crybaby is that if you aren't keen on the sound after a while, it's far easier and cheaper to get it modded than one of the lesser known brands.
