Yeh, Skold kinda disappeared after he started telling us that he actually cut his face to look like the Joker from the Batman movie.

Skold was banned.

There's not too many that I'm aware of which are free, the rest I know of have a price tag. Google is always a winner.

Really what for? I really enjoyed his comments and perspective. Him and guitarboy666 who's MIA. I suppose he got banned too.

Is this how it's going to work now? we bann the folks who have been around for a while and have something to contribute? Maybe i should band my self

for being tooo...skold. why was he banned? i mean so he overdosed every now and again, so he crashed into a tree killing 2 squirrels, a stop sign, and an oak tree ( "oak tree your in my way" what song les paul, i know you know it!) so he stole something from cvs claiming it was possesed, now im freaking lost...o well... o ye.....ehhh....nope lost it....o yeh! he was a good contributer to our forum and deserved....oo a butterfly..i mean, a break for his wrongdoings. we shouldnt bann people left and right...

sorry for bringing this thread totally off track, wheres phip, hes a technical guy, he told me about audacity and stuff, i just wish i knew what the hell he was talking about.

From what I've seen, Kristal Audio Engine is one of the best and most reliable multi-track recording software out there (for the money - none).

Now, I use Audacity, but it's mainly because all of my project files are done in the aforementioned program.

What's great about Kristal is that it lets you turn the effects and what not on and off as you please, whereas Audacity lets you apply it forever (paint stripper anyone?)

@ Skold,
I've just downloaded Kristal AE to try it out. I do have some questions for you if you don't mind......
Are you saying you use both programs?
If so, why would you need to? Kristal seems to have a bit more features so why not just use that?

maybe that means you don't use Kristal, you've just read about it?
Thanks,
Phip

I checked that Kristal, it looks good for a free. It support VST which is good thing. I suppose it could handle solid recording and editing.

If I had to choose of Audacity or Kristal, Ill definately turned to Kristal.
