So, what's the most challenging song(s) (so far) you've learnt ALL THE WAY THROUGH?

This can count for any instrument and also vocals.

I'm interested in reading people's choices.

For Guitar mine would probably be... Guardian Angels by John McLaughlin

Probably because I kept putting it off each time I learnt another part. When it came down to it, I should have found it easy, but didn't.

For Piano at the moment it's Comptine d'Un Autre Été

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIdKbhn7x1Q

Because that's the song I've just learnt... don't really find anything else difficult because I've played them so much.

For singing it's this song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OkFSCWe9oA

If you watch it all the way through, you'll know why... hahah.

For BEAT BOXING

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7GGkKpBR-g

Is this major cool stuff. I can't play it really but I thought it was awesome and wanted to share it.

This would be a better piano verson of my choice.

How do you post videos on here, and actually get them to show? The normal HTML doesn't work on here, what do you have to do to make it work?

Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be able to, what's your most challenging song at the moment? Even though you don't know it all the way through.

hmmm, right now i would say "rainy night in georgia" which i know i'm not ready for so i put it aside until i AM ready. every once in a while i practice a few parts but i'll get to it when i'm ready for it.
I want it to sound real nice and that means doing more than just strumming a few chords.

Either Testament's Over the Wall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPh8GmY1XPA
Namely becuse of the solo, the intro riff was hard to get when ever I learned it though. :P

Or Accept's This one's for you
And... I can't find a linky to it. :(
It's basically Accept... But they came from being awesome German metal dudes into super awesome German metal dudes with shredding every 5 seconds and many riffs. :P

Opeth songs are all fairly difficult. I'm struggling a little bit with "Little Wing" too.

Yngwie Malmsteen, Frank Gambale, Chick Corea, Muhamid, and so many more are probably more impressive. Because they know more, and they know how to apply it bars ahead of time.

improvising a simple solo is easy.. just take a box shape, go up and down that mode adding bends, vibratos, hammer ons, pull offs, add some repeating licks and bam! u got a simple solo, a good starting place

Beautiful, no?

Just because I think people should watch it. What's freky is that he has gills on his neck, both sides. That's why he wears a scarf.

my biggest challenge probably was getting the finger picking to dust in the wind correct, then singing it- both were hard

i havent learned the whole song yet, but little wing by hendrix is a challenge

I can't really play any songs all the way through, but I can get most of Stairway to Heaven, and part of the solo.

I'm also learning Blackbird by the Beatles for acoustic, and it's actually not too bad. Sounds very pretty though.

@jazz
thank you for sharing...got me a strange moment listening it.

Left me breathless. Song itself minds me somekind of infernal tango. Well... Im a very bad singer, but I dont think I dont even want to sing like that... Thats horrible, but still weird dark way beautyful... Hard to say, I think I answer no, cuz most of it that it sound so good was that song in the backround was...kind of an amazing.

haha Yeah, it's pretty damn insane. I cracked up when I first heard it, but I do actually appreciate the fact that he's able to reach those notes- without breaking.

His name is Vitas. He's a Russian superstar, as they say.

It shows in the next video on the related videos that he has gills. I'd like to think it's just some camera effect, but apparently it's not. (half man, half fish? hmmm)
