metallica...anyone got the new album yet? its sort of relavant to the topic so id just thought id post it here instead of a new topic. what do we think who ever has it and what do you expect to hear if you dont?
i heard about half of the songs.. james sings too many notes, back in the day he sang like 3 in a song. now he sings a different note every 3 seconds... otherwise i thot it was pretty good
Ive got it, it have "old metallica feel on it" thats good imo, but theres also something in the producing James voice that is bit different than earlier metallica albums, dun sure what it is tho, but it feels little more raw than previos ones...

Yeah I got the album on the 10th, because it was released two days early in the UK after it was leaked. I went on holiday on the 11th though so I couldn't listen to it until last Thursday!!
I quite like it, but it's a shame it's fallen foul to the "loudness war" - increasing the volume of CDs to the point where the loudest peaks are severely damaged. I mean, is it really that hard to turn your speakers up a little bit louder to hear a sonically superior version of the same album?!
I had completely forgot about this band, how dare I? Right?
The Drive-By Truckers. They're what you might call rockabilly, a countryish rock n' roll. I like their "Decoration Day" album the best. My sister introduced them to me, after that I realized she has good music taste (so you should check out The Jayhawks too).

John McLaughlin- Meeting of the Spirits
Featuring Paco de Lucia and Larry Coryell
A song I'd gladly lose myself in. I can also play it, perhaps this is my most challenging song. It kills the wrist after a while trying to play those chords for some reason. But I LOVE to improvise over this.
