The man's a fucking master of his craft, I tell yer what. Finally, I can listen to something other than Oasis and The Beatles (not that I don't love both, I just wanna hear something new). |

Yeah, I've listened to "I Want You", "Mr. Tambourine Man", "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" and I already think he's the bollocks. |

I'm a huge dylan fan :)
I think he is also every under rated. Hendrix believe it or not loved his songs. Who do you think wrote all along the watch tower? He is an amazing composers and songwriter. I know people don't really get into him because of his voice and especially now that hes gotten older but the man still rocks, his last 3 albums still charted on billboards in very high position and i think one even knock of mrs. spears for #1. pretty darn good for an old man who can't sing!!!! |

Skoldy, Skoldy, Skoldy,
I'm proud of you boy!
you've discovered arguably the best lyric writer of all times and all genders. Dylan is the master!
Blowin' in the wind is one of his best......
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

There's something else to be said about Dylan and most of the GREAT lyric writers............they all were deep into reading poetry early in their careers.
Something to consider for those of us who aspire to write. |

Yeah, I don't think there is anyone who consistently writes as well as Dylan. If you get a chance watch "NO DIRECTION HOME" it will probably be on PBS this month (it's beg month) or you can prob rent it. It's a must see. |

i think dylan was one of the greatest minds the music business has ever, and probably will ever see. No direction home is an amazing film,, you should also watch, im not there, its bob dylan portraid in so many different formats. His poetic ability and metaphorims are amazing. and he has had such an influences on greats such as clapton and hendrix. he is very underrated. When he dies it will be a sad for the world. |

@CaseyJones,
Woa big guy, have you heard something we haven't heard???
You're talkin' bout him like he's Ted Kennedy or something!
On a funny note Dylan has a grandson and he went to the kids school and played for the class. the kids wanted to know who the old guy was that sang all those depressing songs! LOL |

w8, i saw a vid about him. a movie tht is. idk if wer talk bout same thing, mine was rather hard to follow, flashes back and foward. multiple actors play him at stages of his life, and then he plays him at the end. he starts as aa black kid on a train with an acoustic guitar, singing where he goes, just roaming along. then a women actor plays him at his drug years. |

Don't know what's already been posted, but I especially like the Blood on the Tracks and Desire albums. One of my favourite tracks in general is from Blonde on Blonde though - Stuck Inside of Mobile of Mobile With the Memphis BLues Again - and that album has more and more I like aswell. I have easy access to Dylans stuff because my Dad has all his many, many, many albums.
And yeah, he is a master song writer. |

Thing is, he doesn't seem to make a point of rhyming every single line. He just talks about things. It's brilliant, really. |

Skold: yeah, I love it when it's just more natural sounding. No forced rhymes. he does rhyme often though, but it works really well and is really descriptive. |
