With Mexico, we'll just buy 'em off with the finest tequila available. With England, we'll say "look, there's an American to criticize over there!", and they'll be too busy to bother with us. |

Oh trust me, I know. Everytime I see the word "America" on the internet, people always respond with "FUCK YOU YANKS!". To which I reply with "Kinda like how our vets fucked your country during WW2?".
To be honest, I don't really give a shit if other nations hate us. Why? Because we're the fucking bollocks, and if you piss us off, we will put a bomb straight up your ass. |

ThePusher says: just because something's british doesn't mean its better
That's not even what I said.
I said that those bands (in particular, at least) were better because they weren't metal. |

ThePusher says: I like metal over british music
Most of the really early metal bands were British, such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, and they were followed by bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
I would agree however that the majority of innovative metal bands now come from America, bands such as Metallica and Megadeth, through to Pantera and Machinehead, and nowadays bands like Lamb Of God. The UK just seems to churn out pop-rock bands, because the music press here is somewhat limited, and that is what gets played on the radio. We don't (as far as I know) have radio stations reserved exclusively for metal bands, so underground metal bands fail to flourish because they don't get the backing.

Yup, but now there's the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal in America, and uh, nothing much other than indie and dance in the UK :(
There are a few bands like Bullet For My Valentine, but they aren't really doing anything to change the face of metal like Metallica did in the 80s, and Pantera did in the 90s. |
