Gas prices!!!

This is totally irelevent in a guitar forum site and I almost didn't even post it, but then I thought about the orange juice and apple juice debate and thought what the hell. LOL. I went to fill my truck up today and gas was $3.69 a gallon. I live close to Lexington Kentucky and I am just curious what the price of gas is in other parts of the country and also if the price is on the rise in other countries besides the U.S. I know it's a dumb topic on a guitar site but I was just curious.

wow Latvias a hard place to live, I live in Canada so we use Litres but it's 1.28 a litre so like about 4-5$ a gallon I think

Yup here in america we have it pretty cheap in comparison to other places. Which is sad to say because 3.69 a gal isn't cheap at all. My prices are the same as yours LP, because I live across that river to your north. We need to find alternative fuel.... that will be put into production. Like actually moving forward in the hydrogen cars.

Surely, wouldn't it be easier just to invade another oil rich nation?

gas 3.60 and diesel 4.10 which is what i use

3.55 in boston but expected to rise to 4.25 by end of summer.

i'm gonna have to trade my durango in for an 08 civic. it's already
costing me $45 a week back and forth to work.....my weekly mileage

I never understood why it's more expensive in California than other US states. The pipeline from Alaska goes straight down there, and it should be less expensive to truck to other parts of California, since it's less distance. Is it taxes?

GRX40, from what my uncle, who moved from Las Vegas (worked at Area 51, no joke) to Bakersfield, said, you basically get F'd in the A by the great state of California. I don't remember any numbers, but apparently the tax percentages are much higher.

Yes, taxes vary a lot from state to state then. It's kind of funny when I go to visit relatives in Illinois, I always see people going over the bridge to Missouri just to get gas, since it's 10 - 20 cents cheaper per gallon.

What we need to do as the masses, is to push for healthier, less dependable forms of energy. The way the Elite plays games with the classes are horrendous, take all that they give with a grain of salt. Every "war" America was involved in since the beginning of 1900 was either directly or indirectly caused by the United States government, and they were not for "ethical" reasons. Take up some reading of our history and you'll see the truth lying there as plain as day.

Anyway, I'd love to see a cleaner form of energy be pushed for in the next decade. So many have already begun looking, inventing, creating and so forth. We should be supporting such research and innovation, another chance to free ourselves from those "above."

LOL California is very expensive but we enjoy our state. Everyone in the military wants to be stationed here. We Californians could tell when someone is out of state.

Gas just jumped again yesterday to $3.79 a gallon. Last year I drove 150 miles to work and 150 mile home every day for about 8 months gas was about $2.70 a gal. on average then and it cost me $55 to $60 a day. I couldn't afford to do that now good thing I don't work there anymore.

Our governor is a joke. I never thought he would be elected again specially in a largely democratic state. At one point I was fed up with traffic, bad drivers, gas prices, and cops in this state. I wanted to move to Washington State. Anyways minimum wage in California is like $8.50 while most states are like $6.50

this may change ur mind on gas. i am a huge car fan, love cars, love f1 racing. just found tht crystler is offering a 2.99 a gallon for 3 year if u lease ther cars. shows how desparate they are. why it works? the gas prices are going up, and ppl know tht, so ppl say, well if i could be paying 2.99 a gallon when every1 else pays 4.50, why would i do it. thats what they are hoping for, and then, when gas reaches its high (it will) itll drop, well use the reserve, or well mine in alaska, and itll drop. then if it drops to less than 2.99 a gallon, crystler will then be making ooodles of money. i read tht in a mag btw.

I remember paying $1.30 a gal. when I started driving 11 years later $3.75.

sounds like chrysler bought a few oil tankers. there is a program in
the boston area w/joe kennedy i think ? he owns oils tankers and imports
it himself and then sells it to low income families for home heating at cost.
think they wind up paying roughly $1.29 gallon.
i'd be willing to bet uncle sam taxed the crap out them for it to be $2.99

i remember working a gas station when i first started driving 20 yrs ago
and i sold gas for .63c a gallon....i was driving a 72 mustang that had
like a 19 gallon tank and it only cost $12 to fill it.

i'd buy another dodge truck in a second if i'd be guarranteed $2.99 a gallon

on btw....gas will never ever come back below $3 a gallon. we'll be

Always down before election haha, easy to connect there... and Alaska? Why fuck over another natural beauty? Time to invest all this profit into new, cleaner energy. The games the government will play will only get worse until people revolt, like the feminist movements, labor, civil rights and so on. What's great about our country is the final power is of the people. The last chance card is left into the masses, not the few. but we can pull it anytime. This dependence on gas that we've allowed is only hurting ourselves in the long run.

People today are so numb to their day to day life almost to a state of brainwash that there will never be another huge up rising of the people in America. People will go on complaining about the problems in our country while watching CNN just to ignore them after the TV is turned off so it doesnt cause them to have a bad day(kind of an out of sight out of mind thing), and electing political leaders that lie to the people and show how dirty the are by the campaigns they run. I am not a political person but in my eyes the price of gas is just a small part of a problem our government has created with their greed and hidden agendas.

Never be? How could that be so when it's part of the system still (luckily). It's been just over 200years, and the latest protests have been anti-Iraq/Afghanistan war. still quite current. It seems that every push the people receive from the elite is pushed back twice as much. Where would the Blacks and Hispanics be without the constant steps forward to a better government?
Also, I am hopeful for the future because as humans, we hold the power to act on our own. I understand that you have to be critical, but I don't see everything hopeless in such a state. If we think it's impossible, there is little or no chance; we fulfill our own doomsday, but if we change our mindset to something more positive, constructive, helpful; chances are we will fulfill such an ideal dream.

Which is why to see such a problem and sit back at times seems ludicrous. When it affects you so much? I am not saying I am better than you, but you are fitting your own description (assuming you are of late teenage years and above) when you say, "People will go on complaining about the problems." Yes thats part of a constructive process. You need discussion to formulate good ideas. It is not. Just recently, NYC's purposed 2009 budget will bring about a lot of cuts "to help the deficit." The issue with this? SUNY and CUNY funds will be cut by 30 million dollars. There will be multiple protests and other such actions going on this week and the next (and so on until the proposition is revamped)
Many students will be turning out. Many Teachers and other faculty and staff. We are all affected since this is the best way to get a cost efficient education for many NY residents, and to harm delicate system such as education is disastrous for state or nation's future.

To think there is nothing going on or say there is no need to bother when there is an issue only engulfs such a flame. It's not only self destructive, but harmful to those around. I'd suggest seeing if there is a USPIRG in your state, or any other organization that holds similar dissatisfaction you have with issues you're concerned about. For our system to work, we need the people to be politically active. We call ourselves a democracy but we are really a republic. The only part that makes its slightly democratic is that the people still need to actively take part.

I'm hoping you didn't take this too personal, it's just that when I hear people toss aside such an important duty, I can't help but get up.
