How do you do the perfect trill ?

Like in AC/DC's Thunderstruck intro, he keep that going for so so long and you don't even hear him picking any notes (because he is not.) How do I do that too ? Not talking about endurance (I just posted a thread about that) I am talking about getting a full sound instead of the first few being full, then rest just kinda faded.

How do I get the perfect open-hammeron note-hammer on note- pulloff note-pulloff open type trill ? Without scratching a finger off the next string ? And I am sorry if that kinda doesn't make sense:

Practice slowly, ensuring that you play perfectly without hitting the string. Speed it up when you can.

takes some tapping lick you know....preferably a lick where you fret using three fingers. play the lick a few times to warm up. then play the lick without tapping any notes...just doing the hammers and pulloffs. then speed it up.

have you done the lesson? with the finger work outs. if you work on them they will loosen up your hand. the start playing it slowly and make sure to sound out every thing. after you work being accurate, the speed will come.

Yes, definitely play slowly. That is a must.
The tapping thing might actually work too.

Lol I guess practice makes perfect. My Jackson Kelly makes it really easy to perform trills. The Jumbo frets make it easy. Thats kind of why I bought it.

I forgot to add that you should mute the string with your picking hand once you've tapped it.Also, I found that after a while of barre chords my hammer and pulloffs became stronger.

One of the finest examples of 'trilling' I've ever seen/heard is on the "Deep Purple Rock review 1969-1972" DVD. It's at the end of the "Wring that neck" track. Blackmore performs a near perfect trill whilst drinking a bottle of beer with his right hand. Now that's showmanship!

But when you mute the string after tapping it you don't hear nothing.

You just let it ring as long as you want to because sometimes a high action string set up will cause a bunch of string noise. This only works for complex trills, like the ones that jump and skip strings. Anyways, this may not work for your style.

How high off the fingerboard/neck should the strings be ? And what's the best way to measure it without damaging the cosmetics of the guitar ?

however is comfortable...i set my strings to set as low as they can without buzzing, then raise them just a hair. i dont like really fast action like on the Dean ML guitars. that action is way too low for me. i like to have to press a little to get a note to sound.

Best thing you can do is practice with a metronome, that's how I learnt Thunderstruck. Keep the metronome at a slow speed for a few days and then once you feel really comfortable and your hand's not getting tired so easily speed it up a bit!
