Groovy Hip Hop and Soul

Hey all, its Elliott with his new musical phase. Today, its... Groovy hip hop, and soul. Such as John Legend and Gnarls Barkley... Or soul such as i dont even know... Ive just been listening to stuff my friends listen to and digging it.

I know the classics, sorta, so theyre welcome, id welcome even more stuff i dont know, which is pretty much everything in this genre. So hit me up with some Groovy Hip Hop and Soul (new and old i dont care) Im not into rap hip hop... You know. Cant stand lil wayne or his kind of music... More into groovin hip hop and soul with a melody to the lyrics rather then rapping...

Anyway im pretty sure this is the wrong type of forum as a lot of yall are metal heads, but its worth a try... Hit me up...

I like Balkan Electronic and Arabic groove music...I'll dig up some other stuff too, as this is my favorite type of music (funk, groove) a la Sly Stone. This video is not what you asked for exactly...

This is probably considered hip-hop but the delivery is totally musical. This song is a riot...smart lyrics but very danceable.

Ok now thats far out... I dig sly stone but thats far outta here... Arabic groove... haha

Witty lyrics in the second, i dig, not totally my thing, looking for more of a soul groove, but still i like it

Thanks jazz, some hits some miss. I always love old school stuff... Stevie got me jamming again hah... I liked the new stuff too, not the first video too much but the rest were good, donnie was cool, the last 5 or so werent my thing really, but thanks a lot for all those.

All the ones with videos are working for me, maybe try again? The rest are just the artists' names because I got tired of posting videos after searching for so many hahaha. But those were the ones from the top of my head. I hope that helped?

Jazz - I'll give you Lauren Hill sometimes but most of that modern stuff is straight-laced slow mainstream r&b without a lot of Groove, don't you think? Maybe I'm just interpreting the request while thinking Groovy is faster, like funky.

Nah groovy isnt always fast. Groove is groove, idk how to explain it, but groove is slow and fast. Groove is feel to me. If i dont feel it, it doesnt groove. I love slow r&b grooves... it depends on the artist though, some i do like, some i dont
