Anyone used a.........

Hi all. Thinking of trying/buying one of the Roland Cube amps. Anyone had any experience with them (particularly the new(ish) 40 watt cube)?

I have a mate who has a micro cube who let me play with it.

It was surprisingly decent for one of those miniamps completely blew my little Danelectro Hodad out of the water.

Haven't experienced a full sized one though. You'd have to try it.

BTW by guitar teacher swears by hugh and kettner amps if you're open to other brands.

I had a H&K combo long time ago, sadly I sold it. It was very cool sounding even with crappy guitar.

is that something like a pigmy amp?

I've played the micro cube and the sound is excellent. I would imagine that the 40 watt would sound even better. Best answer, try it!

Yes I have the 30W Cube and It's awesome, I recommend them, I havn't played or really looked at the new ones, but I'm sure theres nothing but improvements

My roommate has the Bass version and I love the thing. He got his new about a year ago. I have been wanting to get the guitar version to practice with, but I keep finding other things to spend my money on.

@ Crash. How doe's your normal guitar sound through the bass amp? I use both types of guitar but can only afford the one amp.

Just had a quick look at the H&K 50watt Switchblade specs. Very very nice but way out of my price range!

I played with one some time ago....like late 80's and it was cool, but never played thru a bigger one...im sure it sound fantastic too

I have the 15 Watt cube.
I'd say it's pretty cool. I'd probably buy the same one if I got the chance (except bigger :P).
