By the look of the specs, this guitar rocks! Perfect metal guitar and then some. I'm going to Guitar Center and see if I can play one. $500 is a great deal for this!

Back from lunch and Guitar Center. They only had one on the rack and it was all the way on the top. I couldnt find anyone to get it down for me!

Yeah. There used to be a guy there that would look for guitars for me to try but he's gone. The service there blows now unless they know you're gonna buy a guitar. There's a couple of guys behind the counter where the effects and strings are that are pretty cool. But the guitar guys see me there once or twice a week sometimes and I never buy anything so they ignore me. I dont care.

Wow thats a snazzy guitar.

I've never really tried active pickups....hard to find one to test out being a lefty.

Enjoy man and congrats!

i can agree that the service at guitar stores is terrible, i went to one last week and straight up told the guy i was looking to buy a new guitar to gig with. i mentioned a few possibility and asked his opinion, he looked at me blankly and just said don't play to loud... :-/ so i plugged in and discovered that not to loud meant no higher than 2 on the volume. after the guy gave me a dirty look i thought to myself f**k this I'm buying online.

i think the EMG HZ-4 & HZ-4A are passive pickups, I've heard that of the HZ series the 4s run hotter than the 1s,2s and 3s but haven't compared myself (in part due to the lousy service at all the local guitar stores). as for the active/passive pickup debate im pretty sure thats a whole thread in itself

I grew up in customer service. It's not what it used to be. By trade, I'm a call center manager. Businesses are getting larger and switched gears from service to volume. The thought is, "if you're not gonna buy it, someone else will". It's kinda sad.

Looks pretty rad man. I am not a fan of Epiphone's or Les Paul's, but this really looks sweet. Only thing I would change would be the neck and pick up size to "thin U" and Jumbo. Never tried EMG passive pickups either, you'll have to upload a video of a tone test.

Rock on!
