So, the D snapped, i restrung, the low E snapped, i restrung, the G snapped!
Holy crap only 35 minutes passed!
Im a bit pissed, but so far some fender strings are holding up.
On a side note, i got to clean my fretboard and pups! Damn they needed it too. |

yeah unless your like me where your e string breaks every other day, then i change my strings ever 4 days...
and you should change 1 at a time dont cut them all at the time. itll *** up the neck.
imagine if you and your friend are holding hands and pulling appart from each other really hard, now one lets go. thats what its like in a sense. |

EMB, I'm pretty sure your e shouldn't break. Especially on a Gibby. Is the saddle sharp on it? Something with the nut? I just can't see it being repetitive and not fixable. Either that, or you're doing some crazy bends haha.

EMB, if it breaks at the saddle, grab some fine sandpaper and sand down where the string lays on the saddle, the string's grove should disappear and so should the snapping.
If you're going to clean up your guitar you'll have to take off all the strings, just give it time to settle, and you might as well adjust her. |

@emb.
I dont cut them... i rip them out! Well, only once on a G...
Anyway, i slowly loosen them one at a time.
Plus i have a Floyd rose, so if one pops at the bottom, i can use the same string, but 2/3 popped too far up. |

I always wind around the "excess" part of the string, too. Then when it breaks at the bridge (always broke there so far) I use that excess part if the strings aren't too old or if I just don't have the money to buy new strings. |

On a side note, you should always check your intonation after changing strings 'cause more than likely it'll need to be set. :-) |
