I remember watching this video a few years ago. About halfway through you'll find the eight finger tapping. He's got a good sense of phrasing, so I challenge you to learn this! :D

i would suggest practicing the techniqu using a clean tone (thats how i do it) especially if you like to play with a crap load of distortion (like me). another way to practice is to hold your guitar flat on your lap and play it like a piano (that is-if you think you can handle tapping with both hands...hence "like a piano".) another yo can do to help minimize unwanted noise, tie a sock or headband or whatever around the nut of your guitar-just on the fretboard...good luck!

There is 8 finger tapping, its called the chapman stick xD
