Most influential on Classic Rock

Who had the most influence on classic rock? In that case, I'd probably say Robert Johnson or Leadbelly or some other old time bluesman. A lot of the classic rock bands just took old blues songs and redid them.

who cares? classic rock has about the heaviest shit - quality ratio of any genre.

rock is so vast even in just your classic rock (term i have problems with) it is impossible. As Robby Krieger said for deciding to go into rock not jazz,

basically saying rock had no set rules as what could be done besides the beat which was Proved to be wrong in the long run any way. the fact is that Sun RA is as much of an influence in classic rock as anyone. it really depends on the band to find the influence because they were all so different but something tied them to gather and if anyone knows please tell me

Depends on what you define as Classic Rock. Some say Led Zep is Metal, some say it's Classic Rock.

Chuck Berry and Elvis came before them though, and influenced people before they were around.

elvis wasnt rock to me, chuck berry was....ehhhhh but thts true elvis was one of the first to bring on the "new" rock music.

Again, it depends on what you think Rock is. For some, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis were Rock while for others, they were Country.
