So people, What are/is your favourite acoustic guitar(s)?
I have fallen in love with this amazing Luna Dragon and Luna Phoenix (twins and both compliment each other beautifully!)
Beauties!

I play a Durango B-18, which is kind of a low-end guitar (I bought mine used for about $200). I'm pretty happy with it though, because it has a very nice jazz sound and the construction is pretty solid (although it could stand to project a bit more, but it was $200).
I can't say I'm a big fan of guitars like the ones you posted JazzMaverick. Although I'm sure they sound great, I like my acoustic guitars to look like the wood they're made out of, instead a solid finish. I'll keep the inlays to the neck and headstock too :P
What do you guys think of Seagull guitars? I played a spruce one at the Guitar Center nearby and it sounded beautiful! |

I don't mind foogered, everyone has their own tastes. :)
If you want a Jazzy sounding acoustic (can not explain in sensible words how AMAZING this guitar is) Ibanez AF75 that's one I own and even my Jazz teacher couldn't let it go saying "It's so Jazz!" Probably something you had to have been there to find funny. :P
Skold, your choice in guitar looks beautiful! I'd love to play on it.
jcb3000, That's a kind of guitar I like, with the cut out (love playing those high notes) How's the playing? Wouldn't mind giving that a go either. |

I've got a Yamaha FG730 acoustic. It's a sweet tone for being $300, but my only complaint is the one I've got has an ungodly high action. I'm going to lower it/have it lowered pretty soon though. |

you can do that yourself really easily with some fine sandpaper, a hexnut, and a ruler. use trigonometry, or read up on the internet on how to adjust the truss and sand down the saddle to make it where you want it to be. |

^ Yep, that's what I intend on doing. Gonna do some research and hopefully I can do it myself. If may talk to my guitar teacher about it first, to see if he has tips., but chances are I'll just go ahead and do it myself. |

only thing i gotta warn you about... keep the saddle FLAT when you sand it down. really be careful about that part. |

This is not a pic of my guitar but my is similar. It'a a Poo man's martin (sigma) it has rosewood back and sides. The tone is amazing.
I like the ibanez archtop. I think someday i may look at one of those closer or mabye a gretch but for now my epiphone dot does well.
The dot is going throuh a over hall in a few months :) |

I love that guitar, just not the wah-bar. It's just so... flat. I prefer the thin rounded ones. I like sunburst, but I would have to say that GRX40's choice in colour is awesome.
Telecrater, your epiphone looks really nice. I'd love to give that a go.
Baudelaire and GRX40, since you both talk about fixing the action yourself... would you say that getting it professionally done is a rip off? Or do you just DIY for the sake of saving money?
I'm fairly luck, that all I need to do is tighten or losen the screw and that's that.

I had an opportunity to play that orange Gretsch when I was shopping for hollow-bodies, and I must say that if you're looking for a guitar in that price range, I'd opt to get an Ibanez Artcore instead. I just wasn't to impressed by the way it sounded and felt. I also don't like how they placed the knobs :D I understand that they're supposed to be in more convenient places, but convenient to me is the place that every other guitar-maker puts their knobs :P |

hahaha. I'll take your advice foogered. Covenient is the way to go. I'm not actually looking to buy one at the moment, just wanted to see what everyone was interested in, also widen my opinion on makes and series so that when I actually want to buy one I'll try a bunch out, see which one I'm most passionate about. |

Haha you're full of awesome knowledge. There's a Bigbsy selling on ebay which I happened to see before you posted that. odd choice in colour though.
Still though, the wah-bar is the only thing I don't really like about it. But then again, that's what makes it unique. |

From what I've heard, it's not really that hard, but a store would charge you for labor (probably overcharge you). So I would do it to save money, plus use it as a learning experience.

I absolutely love Bigsby's.
When I get my new guitar (Tele, or Epi Dot), I'm gonna get one installed.

I would probably have to choose between a Martin or Taylor, even though they're ungodly expensive. |

My sister has an Ovation Celebrity. I've played it a little, and from what I can tell, it's a pretty nice guitar. I can't really comment on value since I don't know how much it cost. |

Yeah, that's actually a good idea! I'll talk to you about that if I need to do that. That'd actually be some fun experience.
By the way to everyone, This topic can also include Bass or whatever funky instrument you find interesting.
I'm tempted to spam this amazing harp guitar.

Mines similar to this guitar, a Gibson Baldwin 3/4. I love it as it's a lot like the well mentioned YAMAHA with the sound and style, only not full sized, I'm just plain crap with those! (I don't like a sqished chest)Mines just that colour (and I'm not the man holding this one! Promise, that's not me!) |
