Hell yes, if you like those guys you would certainly like Between the Buried and Me... you might possibly like Born of Osiris too. Listen to the song "Abstract Art" by Born of Osiris, especially the keyboard part in the middle. Also check out the album "Angl" by Ihsahn, it's like the black metal version of Opeth, awesome shit. |

I was actually going to make this thread yesterday, to try and find some more bands to listen to. I listen to loads of Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Tool, a bit of Meshuggah and Queensryche, plus older prog bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush, Genesis etc.
I love what I've heard so far, but I feel like there are loads of bands out there that I haven't discovered yet. |

@blackholesun: check King's X if you don't know them already. You should probably like them since u like both prog rock/metal and grunge.:) |

Yeah, I've heard about them before but never listened to any of their stuff, they sound awesome though! I've never seen any CDs in the shops though, which is where I get the majority of my music from, I guess I should use amazon a bit more! |

I thought I would love this genre but, I don't know im kinda of on the fence with it. Maybe if someone could point to a good song or something, all I really listen to is metal, thrash, classic, punk, and some techno. |

ironman, listen to Face of Melinda or Serenity Painted Death by Opeth. They're both on Still Life, a concept album about a buy who is outcast from a village but he loves some girl who later becomes a nun. It's one of my all-time favorite albums and all the songs are worth multiple listens.
By multiple I mean multiple to the most extreme limits of its definition. |

You should buy Gigantour 2006 DVD. the progressive metal bands on there are great and complement Megadeth well |

The most "prog" band I listen to is probably Mastodon, though some classify them as "sludge metal". I also like Tool.
