I am working on a tap part of a solo and here it is;

|-5-6-8-13-----------------------
|----------5-6-8-13-----------
|------------------------
|---------------------------
|------------------------------
|---------------------------------

Not gonna bother writing out how this goes but these are the notes used in just the tap part.
What scale/scales could this be?
Thanks!

Thanks GS
D Melodic Minor Descending was the one that matched it.
Now to work on the rest

that is essentially the same as Dm. when you descend through the melodic scale you dont change any notes. and your welcome...anytime.

"It's in D... Minor. I feel that D Minor is the saddest of keys, it instantly makes people weep."

-"Yes, it's very pretty. What's this piece called?"

-"Uh, Lick My Love Pump."

Kay I know this is a VERY old thread that I made LONG ago. But I felt it was pointless to make another thread when I can just use one I made long ago.
But I need help on what scale includes all of these notes:

|--------------------------
|--------------------------
|--------------------------
|-----------------9-11-12--
|---------9-11-12----------
|-9-11-12------------------

I think it's a C# something. But I really don't know. I suck at scales, very badly.

I think you're just using an accidental. Like EMB said, it could be phrygian, or even minor, just adding the 12 on the D string.

A sharp or a flat note.

So really, I'm just using a C# Phrygian with the added D# ... Or Accidental, as it's called?

Pretty much, yeah. Depends on what you're playing when you continue down the fret board. Could be phrygian or natural minor. Check out my major scale and modes within lesson, that should hopefully help you understand a bit more.
