What makes you wanna play ?

Like, when you hear/see/touch/talk about it etc. What just makes you wanna grab your guitar, take the stage and just play your heart out ?

For me, it's hearing bands like Godsmack, Iron Maiden, SOAD, and a bit of Metallica. Seeing Buckethead play (and hearing) and talking about playing.

W/b all you guys ?

Music is what i love. that is enough of a reason for me to play.

Feeling the music going though me. Touching a instrument that I know I can play and feel the music.

Metal, listening to my favorite childhood band: Fastball or some classic work from Albeniz.And of course the attention from the ladies. Lol :)

seeing a live show, hearing an amazing song...seeing a beautiful instrument....any time anyone else is touching my guitar... lol

play cause without expressing myself through sound I wouldnt be able to cope with life. sounds emo but i mean i can sleep easier when I know there is this unexplainable beauty in the world and that i can create some of it!

Just the need to get away from this mundane existence and let my imagination run free for a while. I can pick up my guitar and be anyone I want to be inside my head. Having said that, I'm reasonably content with my life most of the time, just every now and again................

music is like an escape from school, drugs, sex, everything that bothers us and when i heard some of the gr8 guitar solos i just had 2 play it no matter wut.. wow tht was corny

I try and play everyday Its my escape,I forget all the bullshit and bills, and worrys that i have and I really cant go with out playing for more than two days tho....kinda like a drug.

ye i think music more or less is an escape from everything

helps me to forget anything. i like playing in giggs.. i like hearing people scream to someone and not being between

Listening to the "Through the Fire and the Flames" solo right after the pac man noise and imagining me playing it... gives me chill bumps everytime.

dragonforce is so fake, their music is influenced by video games, half the time they use keyboards, they cant even play their own solos, show in any live preformance. im not saying tht it isnt ok 2 like them, but i h8 when some 1 says, "look at this band they hit 100 notes a second (tht always pisses me off), then they go, "ther sooo good!! i cant belive they play tht fast" first of all, playing fast isnt everything, a red cat can move their fingers around the guitar neck fast...ok fine a talking red cat, still. and half of their solos are on keyboards.

I'm not a fan of shred really, unless it is used tastefully. Music influenced by Pac Man? Meh, but a keyboard solo still takes skill though. I mean, look at Dream Theater...

Pac Man lol. Shred is actually being destroyed by bands like DragonForce. I read their tab for Through the fire etc. The song is fast but it is simple. Nothing out of this world like Marty Friedman or Steve Vai. I dont even think Dragonforce should be considered Metal. AX7 is barely Metal because they are good shredders. Angus Young is also a simple guitar player but his timing is perfect. I think Angus Young is the perect Rhythm player. Hes not a huge influence on my playing but he has influenced me secondhand.

true, but every 1 thinks the keyboard is guitar, nd yes, the band acctually said they played tons of vid games, and were inflenced by vid games.

i was talking to a mate and he described it perfectly as "ibiza music with guitars" lol

sweet... in my case, i hate music, it sucks i hate everything that has to do with musici hate guitar i hate drums i hate the basses i hate singers, no one knows how to sing, every singers voice is changed in a computer music is no more than a business...
lol i will never play without motivation
but i motivate on everything
