I have never really been to the lick section (kinda weird since I submitted one long ago when I first started, hahaha). But what about by genre? If I am looking for a metal lick, I don't want to have to weed through 8,472 other licks. |

Categories would be nice: Metal, Jazz, Arpeggios, famous licks, etc. |

Difficulty. A genre tag means your labeling music, which is a no no.
Just diffuclty promotes being open minded thinking, not just'oh, i play metulz, screw bluegrass licks". It will expose people to new things.
But like mac said, categories would be cool. Arppeggios,sweeps,licks,riffs,etc just no genre.
But I suppose a subtag system for genre would be cool too, so if i really did need per say a "metal lick", i could skip straight too it.
Sooooo I vote for genre,and difficulty. I sorta contradict my first paragraph by saying that, but not really. because either genre or categories alone would be lame, It needs to be both, for efficiency. |

Ok, so I guess I have to add genre to the list. I know there have been lots of talks about fixing this section in the past, but we are really trying to get it sorted soon!

thats awsome man.
For the genre thing. Id like to add something to that.
As i said a few posts up, small icons indicating genre for quicker
access.
Like for a country lick, a little tele icon, for metal a pointy, guitar,pentagram etc lmao. you get the idea. |

What do you guys think about licks having to approved by a moderator or admin? Or is that just a terrible idea? |

@gs124 Its a good idea. But as long as the lick is properly
formatted amd explained, the lick must be approved, no predjudice
against the relevance,genre,or need of the lick. |

I think they should be organized by genre, or catagories. Can you submit a lick in standard notation? |
