I feel stupid. I forgot how to intonate my Ibanez. |

isn't intonation the same on all guitars? changing the length of the string (via the bridge saddle) will change its intonation. it depends what kind of bridge you have but it's usually a screw that lies parallel with the string. turning it will move the saddle forwards and backwards along the length of the string.
i don't remember which way is which, but ibanez's website has the full instructions in .pdf format. |

all i see are the fine tuners, action screws, and string locks. (Floyd Rose)
Are the fine tuners also the intonators? |

no
on a floyd rose it is the little Allen key spot under the string right by the saddles.
Enjoy intonating!
and you need to do it for every string gauge change |

ahh i am not familiar with the floyd rose. my ibanez is an artcore, it has a hardtail bridge.
you know what's weird is that my strat has had 9s, 11s, and now 10s on it, and the intonation always seems fine at the 12th fret... |

Oh yea. I remember now! Thanks Case.
Btw, i had broken my high e string on a whammy pull. I was gonna change them out, but it broke a 1/4 inch from the saddle so i fixed it, and it was just very slightly off intonation.
Its seriously gonna suck going from 07s or 08s, i forget |

I play 8's but to break a string on a wammy pull? Sounds like a set up prob. Try adjusting the springs |

I like 8's because of speed. 9's seems 2 drag on the d,g, 5-7th fret to me on any guitar but with 8's you lose bottom, I do not d tune(never will) so to me I don't need that crunch, I play pretty much instro stuff |

yeah I hear that, I have one guitar sat up for Drop D just because it's nice to have for a different sound every once in a while, though typically I just stay in standard, which my other is set up for. |

I'm used to playing 11s. The fact that they even make 07s just blew my mind. |

I had 9s on mt lp once and it just didn't feel right. I didn't even know they made 7s.
I'll stick with 10's. |

drop D I'm not a fan of but it does open up new sounds, I mean you can get a lower chug out of the D Min/Maj key and it's also like having a built in bass player! lol
i don't particularly make up my best riffs out of it though :P |

only on the power chords...
i like drop D because on my artcore (22 frets) i can play the D scale in four octaves. but i never use it. |
