I don't know how to embed from this site yet :(
The "Tuna Dance" started off as an idea with me and my friend(and drummer) wanting to do a techno song. So we recruited my friend Tuna(I'm not joking we call him Tuna) to do some synth/piano work for us.
Scott-Drums
Tuna-Synth
Me-Guitar
"A cloudy day in omaha" was put together last night. It took me about 6 tries to get the solo how I wanted it to be(within the context of the song). I played the bass(sounds like a drone bass), and the drums are a (sadly) loop from Garage Band.
Its definitely something very outside of what I normally would play, but, I like it because it somehow sounds pretty good(to me).
Well any feedback is welcome!
Thanks ahead of time, and Enjoy! |

"Less IS more" - Anonymous
@case211
i really dug most of both tunes , particularly 'A cloudy day in Omaha' for the first 2 min before the dist-git, then after the dist-git.
i like what i hear you moving towards .. the old 'less is more' edict.
Nice 'feel to both' and nice sense of space and spacial interactions.
You hit on a fav Niche of mine (electronic = real), pioneered by Brian Eno (after Cage and Stockhausen).
my only real bits of 'constructive criticism' =
- work on your timing, you sound a bit stiff
- the clean and sparse guitar that ran through the beginning of the tune was very nicely played, i'd stick to that until the "fast"(dist-elec) guitar parts don't throw you off key, melody and time.
- don't record electric guitars direct or through pods
other than that... Kudos Suh !!!
I have, since 91 or so, been releasing "stuff kinda like that" under various circumstances..some new stuff is tangled-up but I'll see if i can plop something of my own, for YOU to critique!
Great Job Bro!

Cool, in tuna fish theres 1:00 to 1:20 was splendid soundscene and feel. I agree with Carl that both songs have work in timing, but Ideas were cool!.
Solo stuff seems to be in good way, for me your technique sounds very good, far better than me forexample, but theres also little work in timing and scales, but hey... theres always need for that, if not...we cant get better.
Nice job m8

thanks for the input guys, i've been working on timing but that has been a long and arduous process. Well, i'm glad you guys liked it, i showed my drummer the "Cloudy Day in Omaha" and he was like wtf?
I said it was different from the normal barrage of covers and originals that I do(Think Van Halen and Ozzy type stuff), but, I rather enjoy light clean guitar sounds and simple riffs...
EDIT: I added the "Cloudy Day in Omaha" track minus the distorted guitar "solo" in place of the original track.
Thanks again guys
EDIT:hey Emp, how did you embed the player?

Hey case, I wondering same thing... it was bit tricky :D. When logged in, navigate to your music. Then click song and where song is click "get single-song widget"
Cheers!
